Just For One Month For One Medication

My grandson was diagnosed with schizo affective disorder -- depressive type in 2019. He's had issues with ADHD and some other things. But now his doctor revamped his diagnosis and changed his meds. She recently added another new one that is supposed to help him in his hallucinations and delusions. This added one is Vraylar and he takes 1.5 mg. of it. Well, last time he got it I read the paper that comes with it and saw the price. For one month (that's 30 tablets) it cost
$1,937.69. Can you believe it? If he was taken off Medicaid, I don't know what we would do.

That's great that you have good insurance. I wonder if the price would be less if wasn't for him having Medicaid.

That's why he has Medicaid. Cause he can't pay for it. He takes 4 different ones.

@celticeagle Exactly. I’m on Medicaid too because of disability. Yet some people here think the state shouldn’t even have Medicaid and the family should have to deal with it.

It's a new one and I hope they bring down the price on it at some point.

That is a crazy amount that it would cost that much for his medication. Medicine should not cost that much!

I totally agree. I think they jack up the price on some of them when they know the state is paying for it.

The insurance rejected my son's meds not long ago and I had to go through some hoops. It was going to be a fortune for sure. The prices they charge for some of these medications is unreal.

That's right. There used to be a program here that helped people pay for such situations. I wonder if it's still around.
