Indoor Rain

I’m getting rained on even though it hasn’t rained here, over my city in 26 days. This is the kitchen ceiling. I hope that’s not going to get moldy. Did anyone else see they are reviving the ALS ice bucket challenge? It’s such a terrible disease; I’d love to see another breakthrough.

That ceiling leak is stressful, hope you get it sorted before it turns into mold. Weird how it's leaking with no rain in 26 days, must be a pipe or something up there. And yeah I saw about the ice bucket challenge coming back, would be amazing if it helps find another breakthrough.

My dad mentioned the air conditioner… I wonder if that is a possibility.

@AmbiePam Yeah it can, for real. Sometime the unit not tilted right so the water go back inside instead of outside. Or if its on the roof, the drain line get clog up or the seal around it start wearing out and then water start leakin in through the roof.

I hope the "rain" in your kitchen isn't from the toilet in the apartment above you. We had a couple of really big storms yesterday and some sprinkles during the night last night.

I’m on the top floor; there are no apartments or toilets above me.

@DaddyEvil I started out in the bottom floor, and hated it. Went to the top floor after that. The stairs aren’t great for my back, but I had a kitchen flood once when I was on the bottom floor. Never again.

@AmbiePam You're really lucky, then! I've only lived in an apartment once and was on the ground floor for about 4 months before I moved out again.

I would start by trying to spray a mold cleaner towards the ceiling, hopefully some of it will make it to the area. Otherwise, if you have a dehumidifier that may help or even a fan to circulate the air. I hope that you can find something to clean this, mold is so dangerous.

That is not good, at all. It probably is an AC or something.

@AmbiePam Keep an eye on it, mold is liable to grow there and make you REAL sick.

I have one too in the kitchen because of the heavy rain. I cannot have it fixed yet because it needs to dry first. but we have rain almost everyday though not as much as in the past weeks

I hope you get help with that ceiling ASAP. You don't need the ceiling falling on you.

I had a leak that stained in the front room but it hasn't been an issue in 6+ years. Very strange.
