A very full afternoon--hurry up and wait.

For the son, not for me. Right now, he is on a telehealth appointment with what he calls the ''vampire'' that calls from the treatment center. That shouldn't take very long. This afternoon he has an appointment at one complex in the city, then immediately after that I have to drive to the main hospital complex for another appointment. That sounded like a full day to me, but his primary care doctor called and wants him to sign some paperwork and have a quick check for something that I can't remember right at the moment. When we have days this busy with medical stuff, sometimes he gets a bit down in the dumps. So his crazy Mom cracks a lot of bad jokes to keep us laughing. He seems to be in a positive mood, hopefully he won't get too tired later on in the middle of racing from one place to another. I asked him if this was too much in one day--we didn't honestly plan it this way this time, but it happened. He said it was fine, because that meant he didn't have to go another day, so hopefully this works out. As for Mom the chauffer, she will have an afternoon of ''hurry up and wait'' but that's ok.

@wolfgirl569 I put safety on high priority. These days it seems we have to.

It all went well until we had to weave through the worst of the traffic and of course construction...finally back home again, yay! Thank you.

So much. Gosh I sure don't envy you. I hope you two have a day of rest coming. That is always how I finished my runs some days. I used to jog nearly 8 miles to and from each day. Sometimes it was more than I thought I could do. But, I would mentally tell myself okay when you get home you will get a nice blueberry smoothie (or whatever) and I'd make it that last bit because I held onto that coming thing I was going to give myself.

Tomorrow I only need to pick up meds for him, and I have one local appointment for myself that won't take but about 15 minutes. Which is all fine, we need some more at-home time. Thanks!

Better to get it all done and out of the way. I dislike parking garages and we’re parked in one now way up on the 6th floor. What a treat getting to the exit will be.

I know what you mean about parking garages. They are not my favorite, either, but I do have to use the one at our hospital quite often. And yes, I often end up on the top floor....thankful for elevators!

I understand being the sick person is the hardest job, of the two. But the hurry up and wait is a soul sucker too. I know he is grateful for the company during these periods of boredom and isolation.

I take a book, and I have my phone with me. I have to keep my mind busy so I don't overthink and worry too much. Sometimes if it's a consult only with treatment plans, etc. he asks me to come in with him, he's always afraid he might miss or forget something....yes, he's always going to be my child and I am his Mom, but he's an adult and I treat him like one. I agree, hurry up and wait can sort of suck! He tells me how much he appreciates what I do, and I always say I would do it for any of my 4, and I know they would do it for me. Thanks, Amber.

And then, on top of that, you have the heat and the traffic to deal with.

Honestly, it’s easier to deal with the heat than it is the traffic!

Oh poor you! You always have so busy and stressful days. Your son is lucky, the best is to keep his moral high and it seems you are succeeding.

Not an easy time but who does not want to do our best for our children? The waiting is tough though we have social media if it gets too long.

As long as it helps him get to where he needs to go, I'm there for him. He's definitely worth it! Thanks so much.
