Are you a Debbie Downer?

I was thinking about this after reading a discussion here, and it brought to mind a guy I know. Whatever the situation, he sees the negative. He’s so bad, I remember his friend got a new pair of shoes when she found a sale. He looked at them, pointed out it was winter, and she couldn’t wear them for months. Really?
Reading that discussion I just mentioned, someone was excited about something, and someone else was like, that’s not practical at all.
So what? I admit, I fall into the trap of negativity, especially about where I live, but I like to think I do that about my own situation. I sure hope I don’t go around being a Debbie Downer to what’s going on in other’s lives. Goodness. Are you a Debbie Downer to others?

Honestly that shoe story made me laugh and cringe at the same time. Someone finds a good sale and gets excited and he ruins it with the winter comment, like who does that. I try to catch myself when I feel like being the practical one, sometimes people just want to be happy for a minute.

I try not to be, or if I am not to be audible about it. Sometimes there is so little joy we need to not squash what is there.

I don't think I'm a Debbie Downer but I guess I have my moments (don't we all?) but I think I'm pretty much a glass is half full person most of the time.
I do a friend who is so negative about everything. Makes me wonder why I still stay friends with her but we've been friends for so many years I guess it would just feel wrong to end our friendship now,

I don't but I do know a couple of people who are. One said I could only wear my outfit once a year that is Halloween themed. I asked her why

My partner is like that. Either he has got worse over the years or I didn't realise how bad he was for a long time. Whenever I come up with some suggestion he always has a whole list of reasons why it's a bad idea, and if anything happens he always jumps to the conclusion it's something bad. I just have to see the funny side. For example whenever we go anywhere he's always convinced we'll be late, or there won't be anywhere to park, or the place will be closed...
