Hubby and I are retired and living in the U. S. Fine. We just received notice that Medicare Advantage will NOT be accepted in our local hospital and its doctors next year. Good GAWD. I may be able to continue with our present insurance due to my needing "continual care." But I bet the prices will rise. I put in a phone message to my doc about having the dual scans done in December and not January. No word from that entity yet.
I also am waiting to hear from an insurance advocacy/explainer know it all company to see what they have to say about getting my hubby some care if he will take it. Headache for sure.
More pleasant news: Autumn is here. Pie season has arrived!! I thawed and pitted Bing cherries yesterday. Today I made enough pie dough for two individual pies then plunked cherries and cinnamon in. We'll have cherry pie and ripe cheese for supper tonight. Yesterday I bought two yams while I was at the store. I plan to make a regular sized yam/sweet potato pie later in the week. Hubby will eat anything that has my crust featured with it. Ha ha.

@Ineeddentures My version is not what Southern grandmas would think of as a sweet potato pie. Anyway, I bake up yams or sweet potatoes then pop their innards into a blender, add eggs, cinnamon, ginger and 8 or 9 softened dates. It makes a slurry. I pour that into my pie crust and bake it. The dates give a brown sugar taste. I do not add milk. The yam adds plenty of natural liquid.

Ugh, that Medicare Advantage news is such a headache, I hope your doc calls back soon about the December scans. Hope the insurance folks can help with your hubby's care too. Cherry pie and ripe cheese sounds like the perfect supper though, and that yam pie later in the week got me hungry.
