Meet The Herd

I believe many of you already know Emoci and P.T. from when I used to be here, but Jerry will be new fur to you. Jerry is a feral/stray that I have been patiently working with for a few months hoping to eventually get him to settle in, but he is still almost as wild as my raccoons and skunks are. Almost. I did set a live trap and took him to be neutered and got him a rabies vaccination through a local animal shelter - at which point when I brought him back and opened the cage he disappeared for a few days before coming back and starting to feed here again. Still can't touch him, and he won't walk up to the food bowl until I set it down and back away several feet - but I can tell he wants to trust me - he just doesn't - yet.

Way to go. He's warming up to you and will probably claim you soon, is he friendly with Emoci & P.T.?

Boy have you got some interesting times ahead of you @TheRealMcCoy Jerry probably still thinks he's the top Tom. If he has blue eyes he's got some Siamese and they can be really mean at times.

He has been for the past several weeks, but P.T. does not like him one bit, Jerry and him got into a few times when he first started coming around (Jerry started - and finished - it).

Based on your title, and knowing you, I seriously thought that you were going to post some photos of deer or large animals. Love to see the cats. I think that it is amazing that you are doing your best to welcome Jerry into your family fold. How did you come up with the name for him?

He is named for a cat in an Alice Cooper song, although the cat in the song is a Jerome.

I have known Jerry from your posts on FB, but it's really nice to see him here in myLot Little by little he will allow you to touch him. It takes a lot of time before feral trust humans... he is angry because of his balls.

He will eventually. I was gone from here for 2 months. My scaredy cat Adso was never seen by anyone who came here to clean or care for the cats. Within minutes of when we got back the little creep was all over me.

You should have seen him freak the first time he heard my bong gurgling. I hadn't thought about it and hit it and Jerry went FLYING out the door. He's used to the sound now.

Wow, you've been so patient with Jerry, that says a lot. The fact that he came back to eat after the whole trap and vet thing is honestly a good sign. Give it time, he'll probably come around when he's ready.
