Have you ever seen the like?

When we first to the retirement village in Perth, we went to a couple of garage sales and bought several plants in pots. One was this philodendron. There are many species and varieties of the plant with many grown as ornamental and indoor plants. The Greek word ‘philo-‘ means love or affection and ‘dendron’ means tree. The lower leaves gradually die and fall off.
I don’t know which species my plant is but it is now flowering. Fertilisation, according to Wikipedia, is very complex and I couldn’t do it justice here. Some are fertilised by particular beetles and the tube part can heat up before the beetles arrive. I’ll add a photo of the flower in a comment. It’s worth looking at but I’d be surprised if myLot doesn’t want me to remove it as a ‘bad’ photo! You might need to look closely in the centre of the plant to see the flower.
Mine is a very big plant and probably needs to be repotted into something larger. I hadn’t noticed the flower (I guess it’s a flower) until tonight but I was very surprised to see it. If anyone has more information, I’d love to hear it.

Your plant has gotten very big and I do see the flower. I don't know much about plants/flowers but I'm sure someone here has a green thumb and can help.

That's a lovely plant. I love the way the leaves look.

It looks like a lily blossom to me.
Can you plant it in the ground to let it flourish as a tree?
