Before going to bed,do you shut the ringer off on your phone?Do people call at your place early in the morning while your still sleeping? Here it starts at 6:00am,either wrong numbers or looking for my boyfriend,of course hes far in the woods working!GRR!I could eat them through the phone.I become the phone monster, haha.Or do you always leave it on?

All phones go off as soon as I'm in bed, lolz, or at least on silent. I can't STAND being woken up in the middle of the night, I swear, I'd quite happily murder anyone who woke me up. The most annoying thing is when you get a wrong number, who calls back about ten minutes later, when you've just managed to drift off again! From now on, the phone's unplugged.

Well I have an answering machine that I leave on 24/7 and is a good way to screen calls--I don't have caller ID, but no I don't turn the ringer off. When I'm sleeping I seldom hear the phone ring, that's how deep I sleep..LOL

I find one way to deter unwanted phone calls now is with my message I have on my machine. You see for a long time we kept getting people calling for and about WIC, which is a food program for Women, Infants and Children. Most are Spanish speaking, so we'd answer the phone and they're are rattling off in Spanish, which No comprende, No Habla..LOL So my message seems to deter people from leaving messages, as I say Bonjour, comment allez vous? I cannot come to the phone right now, please leave your phone number and a brief message, and I shall get back to you as soon as possible. Merci beaucoup, Au revoir. So people aren't used to hearing french here and they hang up LOL Hey I could always do..Guten Tag. Wie geht is ihnen?. ....Danke. auf Weidersehen LOL

Yeah, I generally put it in a silent mode while I go to sleep in the night.. I receive a lot of msgs from my friends, which they send during the night, so I tend not to get disturbed with the noise...

No I don't shut it off. I keep it on. It can be an emergency from any family member. Actually anyone calling me during the time of midnight to 7 am better be an emergency :) I know that the way I learned it was that we don't call anyone after 10 pm or before 10 am, but my hours are different and a call just before midnight is acceptable. I don't get many wrong numbers, actually none in a long time, so I'm not worried about that.

I normally switch off my phone when I sleep. After all, no one is going to call me at night and I can always check the messages when I wake. I rather have an uninterrupted sleep without disruptions.;)

Lately, I found myself turning it off because my husband gets a little cranky when he suddenly awakens from unnecessary noise. He wakes up early in the morning to get ready for work and has trouble sleeping early at night. So, when he finally goes to sleep, I make sure that the room is eerily quiet.lol! So, if my sister suddenly thought of giving me a call or text message, if I'm still awake, I get notified by my phone's flashing backlight. Because my eyes are too busy glued at the screen of the computer, typing my responses to the Mylot discussions.

No, I don't always leave it on. I try to remember to switch it off at night. It is often off during the day too.

no, but i always put my phone on the lowest ringing sound and the message tone on vibrate mode. that way i could ignore the unimportant messages and just read it when i wake up and at the same time could still be able to answer an important call.

I don't turn off my phone as I have an elderly and sickly mom as well as children that are out of the home. I get so very angry when someone calls at some rude hour for something trivial. I let them know that it is NOT ok to be calling at such hours.

Hi peanutjar........ well I own two cellphones! So I have suffer to suffer twice as compared to you. My 1st cell is only for my girlfreind, she only has my that number. So, no problem if rings it at midnight also. I love her very much and I am always ready for her wether its day or night! But my second phone is a real headache for me. I dont know why peaople call at night and early in the morning. I think they love to diturb others without any reason. So, I prefer to turn off my phone's riger off and keep it on vibration. I dont turn off its ringer and vibration both due to emergency purpose. Someone may require your help at midnight and in early morning also!

Our new phones do not have the option of turning the ringer off! This is frustrating when the phone goes off in the late hours of the night. ONce awake you can't go back to sleep.

I never shut the ringer off on my phone. My phone is out in the dining room and I cannot hear it ring if I am sleeping. I have an answering machine to take all calls so I don't miss something that might be important. I hate to be disturbed while I am sleeping so thats why I won't have a phone in my bedroom.

Hi peanutjar! My hubby and I each have a cell phone so we never turn it off. We never get calls for eachother as our numbers are very different. None ever calls us early, and even if they did I'd be awake so no biggie lol. I get up early every morning to take the hubby to work, and don't bother going back to bed. I'm the kind of person where once I'm up and moving ... I'm up! Have A Great Day, PurpleTeddyBear.

Hi laurika, thats one of the main things im talking about, about the telemarketers calling early in the morning to "catch" people home,so i just turn it off at might so they can ring all they want until thier ringers fall off!!Hahahaha! Peanutjar:)

Well,I usually turn off the ringer when I sleep. Sometimes I even shut down the cell phone cause I don't wanna be disturbed by others while I'm sleeping. You know, sometimes when you're sleeping, then all in a sudden, the cell phone rang. That's sth which could be scaring. So if that's not the working day I just turn the ringer off or switch the cell phone off. During my working days I need the cell phone alarm to wake me up so maybe I don't turn it off.

I use my cell phone as my house phone, but as far as my cell phone I always leave it turned on. I always am afraid someone is going to need to get ahold of me at 4 in the morning and I would have never known it. Then again, if I leave my phone on and my friends keep calling me at 4 in the morning because they are all partying and im not, i'll just put the phone on silent and go back to bed. Sometimes, it can ring but I still won't wake up and see my missed calls in the mornings.
