How often do you buy new pillows?

With spring I like to freshen things up. One of the things I am going to do is to buy new pillows for my bed as mine are getting kind of flat. I don't sleep with feather pillows so I'll be trying to find something that will last a while. It's not that often I buy new pillows...what about you?

I haven't a clue as to the time I buy new - just when they get smashed to much! But I have to have 100% cotton, no polyester or vinyl or my neck sweats all night long! I just did buy new pillows last week actually, and I think it was Laura Ashley brand with the least amount of anything other than cotton availabel in my price range. But then I noticed a pillow cover - unzip it and put the pillow in it and zip it closed - this was 100% cotton plus I notice that it will hold the pillow cushier longer... it can't spread apart or flatten to much cause it has confines now. Then I put it in 2 pilowcases and so far, the sweating! I am sure you are all now totally relieved now that you know I don't sweat at night because of my pillow!!!! LOL!

I don't buy pillows often every 5 years maybe but my husband is always stealing my pillows anyhow. I sleep with a bunch since they go flat so easy. I have found that if you wash and dry in a dryer that it fluffs then a little but usually in a few days they are flat again. I am going to cut the end off the pillow and take all the flat cotton out and then start fulling the cotton to pieces and just wrok it a little and then put it back in the pillow and sew it back up. It might be good for another few months if I do that.

I haven't bought new pillows in years, and it shows! Mine are pretty flat, but I don't really think about it until I'm in bed for the night. I always think when I'm out, oh the pillows aren't that bad, but they kinda are.

Do you know, I really can't remember the last time I bought new pillows. I can see myslef doing it, but can't remeber when so it must have been some time ago now. I guess I just buy them when the ones I have aren't doing their job any more. I tend to have a pile of pillows rather than just one, so maybe that means I can tolerate them being a little flatter that way.

Memory foam pillows such as the Contour Cloud last for years without ever going flat or giving you trouble. I personally prefer feather pillows but mempory foam is why I don't have the kind of headaches that I used to get. It is also easy to wash. I like to buynew pillows once every year or two. I know peopl who have the same pillows year in and year out for 5 years or more. I think that is gross, because many people neglect to wash their pillows. Especially the feather ones because they are afraid that a seem will burtst or something and scatter feathers everywhere.

I dont like new pillows im weird but I love when my pillow gets nice and flat. Half the time in the night my pillow will end up on the floor anyways.

i dont buy new pillows that often because i when i get comfortable to a pillow it will be hard for me to let go on it. i feel like if i bought a new one i have to be comfortable with it again and i would always have doubt that what if i dont get comfortable with it...what now...no sleep for me.

I use feather pillows and I have them cleaned and new ticking put on every three years or so. It is expensive but feather pillows are expensive so I do it. I also have pillow protectors for all of my pillows...it saves on the ticking.

Hi Jill. I tend to see a lot of the respondent to buy pillows when they get flat. Well, I dont know what pillows they use but to tell you frankly, I have had my pillows for more than 5 years already and they still smell fresh. Its the kid of pillows where you buy it flat and gets thick when you take it out of the package. Its washable and dont hold any odors for long. I have had this pillow for years so I buy pillows like that for me and my son. Its also anti-asthmatic so I recommended that to my sister as well. The only thing that got to have a change is the house of the pillow stuffing itself which just got torn out. I regularly put it in the washing machine and it stays fresh for long. It it gets a little flat and the cover needs changing, I just take it out into pieces and it will be plumper the next time. Its great!

Aint nothing more important to sleep that a pillow. I could sleep on a floor if I know I had a comfortable pillow. I like to change mi pillos like once a year. I think feather pillows are the best way to go. If you are looking to buy pillow for you or as a gift you can go to this site and check them out. They make a great weddings present, trust me if they get divorced they fight over who keeps them hahhaa.. www.bedroompillows.net

I don't buy pillows very often. When they begin to go flat, I go shop. We both like feather pillows because they are easy to fold up in order to elevate the head while watching television. I can't seem to get comfy using a foam pillow. When we travel I go nuts trying to sleep on a foam pillow. Takes me forever to get comfy.

I dont buy pillows for myself that often, most of the pillows I have are given by my friends as birthday gifts. I only buy when it gets too thin, but so far all of them are stilla live and very comfy to use, so for this season i still have nor eason to buy one, I still enjoy their company on my sleep. have a nice day and take care!

when i start getting headaches.that means they've gone too flat for support.it seems many pillows don't last very long for fullness any more. though sometimes i can get a little more use by fluffing them back up in the washer/dryer.

I tend to buy at least one pair of new pillows a year when I see them on offer and I put two flat ones into one pillow case to give them extra life. Ellie :D
