Don't you have any "NOW" food?

My 4 year old grandson was hungry so I told him I would heat up the chicken nuggets and he could eat them... He says, "I can't wait, I will eat them frozen!".... I told him that he wasn't going to eat them frozen and it would only take a couple seconds to heat them in the microwave..... He says, "I can't wait, grama! Don't you have any "NOW" food?"..... It took all I had not to laugh outloud...He wanted something to eat now and he wasn't going to wait for it... His newest statement is.."I'm starving for something!" or if I ask him if he is hungry he will say, "I'm not starving for something!"..... He is so funny!

Fruit and raw vegetables are pretty much "NOW" foods. Even cheese like string cheese or some nuts. That would be good to hold him over so he isn't starving and wanting to eat frozen chicken nuggets. LOL

Four year olds are very impulse driven. I would probably resort to giving him a banana or string cheese or a handful of nuts.

I have offered all that but he says, "no." Sometimes I don't think he knows exactly what he wants...LOL

YES! When you have kids around it is a MUST! Fruits are my first choice, followed by Nuts, Croisants, Cookies even Frosted Flakes (which my daughter likes to eat without milk)

Unfortunately, NOW food is my downfall! I'm always going for a handful of nuts, crisps or savoury biscuits ... not to mention a few squares of chocolate or a couple of biscuits! Fruit is always good for little ones - a banana is a meal in itself!

Haha my 4 year old told me the same thing a few days ago. As for "now" food, I think we have pretzels. Or he could eat dry cereal. He won't eat any fruits or veggies.

i wish my son would eat grapes, or any fruit for that matter! The only thing he likes to eat is chicken nuggets and fries or anything with cheese.

i understand exactly my 4 year old is the same way. that is why i have to keep "NOW" food in my refrigerator. you could try lunchables, my son loves them. and my son has even gotten addicted to eating sandwiches so i just whip them up for him in less then a minute.

lol that is so cute. They come up with some stuff. Yesterday we stopped at sonic to get my daughter one of those new banana split blast and she said it was so good and sweet and I laughed and she told me it wasn't funny momma its good lol shes only 2. She makes me laugh when she calls her sister baby or pumpkin also. Its so fun just to watch them live and see their reaction to things.

How adorable! Four's a fun age, don't you think. My daughter is four and she's always coming up with the funniest sayings. I'm not sure if she heard them off TV or just made them up. Maybe a little bit of both. About a year ago, she tried to eat a frozen french fry and actually liked it. I was trying to get the bag from her before she sampled her frozen fare, then she decided that the rest needed to be microwaved. Smart kid! Enjoy your grand baby. He sounds too cute for words. Take lots of pics. The babies grow up much to fast and slip away from us into their own private world. Be well. Beautyqueen

Your daughter sounds like a cutie....They do grow too fast..I can't believe he is already 4..and my other grandson is 6 and will be in 1st grade already... My avatar shows the four year old looking into the washer...He is helping me load the washer, but he doesn't just throw the clothes in, he has to place them neatly on top of the others....too funny!!!

That is too cute! Toddlers say the funniest cutest things. Mine isn't quite there yet, but my best friend always tells me all of the funnies that her son says, and it's cute and makes me laugh alot hearing them.

Some times I want some now food too. I wouldn't go so far as to try to eat frozen chicken nuggets though. 4 year olds are so cute as they are learning how to communicate to us.

LOL. I can understand that. sometimes I get so hungry and I need some now food too. It almost like I am so hungry that I cannot wait for something to cook. I have to have something to eat right now. Your grandson is pretty smart to say he needs for now because he is very hungry right now. That is very smart and cute.

Awwww that's cute! Kids have a way of saying the darnest things and makes us all laugh. They're so innocent and most of the time sweet and curious and for them to say something is usually funny or really darn cute! lol

That is so cute! I'm not sure they grow out of that because my 11 year old daughter is the same way. When she's hungry she has to eat NOW. Thank goodness for Easy Mac and Asian Noodle dishes that only take a couple minutes in the microwave. Those tide her over until I can cook something more substantial.
