Favorite gift?

So what did everyone get for Christmas? Are you happy with your gifts? What was your favorite? I got a lot of nice things, a winter coat I'd been needing, new slippers. I also got 4 large photo albums, and hubby stayed up all night putting pictures in them. So not only did I get something I needed, I got to spend some time looking at all the photos he put in them. One had some of me, when I was a baby, pics of my mom and some cats I've owned who are no longer with us. Then the other books were of my kids starting with their baby pictures. I spent a few hours yesterday printing more pics off the computer to add to the albums. (BTW, anyone who read my discussion a few days ago about a gift hubby was making for me, that was it, the photo albums) My kids also loved their gifts. Here's a picture of my 6 year old son holding up a Batman batcave he got for Christmas. He just loves this toy and hasn't stopped playing with it!

Hi Kats: I loved your son's pic of his Batman CAve, so cool looking! He looks so darn happy too (G)! My favorite gift is always "cash", that way I can get what I need in fact My Father was really generous in that respect this year for some odd reason; but now I will be able to get something I've wanted the last year or so for my front room, its one of those Amish made fireplaces, they are electric and are supposed to be really efficient and low cost, my front room is just FRIGID, even my cats are cold in there yeah there is a heating vent up in the ceiling but so much air comes in from the door and around the base of the floor ( very old place here) and its just blasted cold, so with this, I am getting one for half off of what they normally sell for ( the dented, dinged, or slightly damaged) version, I'LL TAKE IT (g)! So I am really excited, I placed the order yesterday when I got home but won't know until maybe by MOnday if they have any left to sell, I hope they do; I can't breathe in the "real fireplaces " or anything that burns wood, I have asthma and I have oxygen, and so many other health issues but this electric one will suit me just fine; So that's my best present EVER !!

That sounds nice. I like to recieve actual presents and not money. But you're right, you don't always get exactly what you want when someone else chooses the gift. I told my husband the one thing I really wanted him to get me was a new winter coat. My old one is okay, but it's just big and bulky and I wanted a more fashionable one so I don't look so poor. So he got me one that's very similiar to my old one. Basically the same style, only the one he bought was far more expensive. I was slightly disappointed because I wouldn't have picked it out myself, but it's still a nice coat and I will wear it. Actually I have been wearing it and it's warm and comfortable, that's all that matters, right?

Two gifts I specifically wanted and got may seem unusual to some. The first is a glass cake stand with glass dome - the old fashioned kind you would see in a diner. I've been wanting one for awhile now. Also, at a local shop they were selling clear glass apothocary jars. You know, the old kind you would see at candy stores and at a soda fountains or general stores. This one is big, almost two feet tall. And has a large base it stands on. I can't wait to fill it with candy, especially the old fashioned ribbon candy at Christmas, or even just bright glass ornaments. Or fill it with sea shells in the summer. That one was my favorite gift. I'm going to be moving into a new-to me-house soon and I'm excited about decorating it and this piece will look great in it. Your photo albums sound great. Thats something I really should do sometime. All my photos are in a cardboard box. My ex gave me copies when we divorced and he kept all the albums. So I've never taken the time to buy albums to put them in.

I'm glad you got what you wanted. I'd been telling hubby for awhile that I needed to get my pictures into photo albums, and that I needed to print some of the pictures from my computer. I didn't expect to get photo albums as a gift, and certainly didn't expect them to be half full already. It was a nice surprise.

I think I was really lucky this Christmas, as I'm struggling to decide which my favourite present was, there were so many lovely things. My son bought me some chocolate which was lovely as he'd done it as a surprise with his own money. The present I expect I'll use allot in the coming months though is an express jam maker which my sister treated me to. I've not tried it yet as I've not had enough fruit, but it's not long until the first strawberries hit the shops here.

For the past two consecutive Christmas I received special gifts from my male best friend. I love all his Christmas gifts-the pink journal which I really treasured because I love writing and scribbling important notes, the Companion book from Bo Sanchez and the book "Breaking Dawn" the last series of the Twilight saga.

I haven't really gotten any gifts yet. We have 4 days of christmas dinners and presents. I got a few small things yesterday. We go to the inlaws tonight and my parents on saturday so by then I'll have more. My grandmother got me a gift card for eat n park restaurant which is good. We also go walmart gift cards to help with groceries. I'm sure my mom will get me some good things.

I love taking pictures. The problem with that is that I am really lame at taking the film in to be developed. I literally had a milkcrate full of disposable cameras and film waiting to be developed. On occassion, I'd grab a couple to take in but of course always adding to the pile. My daughter confiscated them and had them all developed for me and made me an awesome scrapbook. Some of the pics were over 10 years old. For me, that was my favorite gift.

My favorite gift was the heat resistant rubber spatula and bamboo spoons that I got from my sister in law. They are the ones from Pampered Chef that I told her I wanted. I also got a few books and some food items. Not a whole lot, but it was nice.

My husband and I gave each other one gift. I got a big bottle of cologne I love. My daughter gave us a beautiful electronic frame (or whatever you call them) and she had already loaded pictures on it. I noticed it is still sitting in the living room on. My son and his wife gave us pictures of them and their children. One of them is a large framed one of both the boys. And we got $100 from my Mother. So we had a nice Christmas. But I enjoyed the kids getting their Christmas more than anything.

I got some gifts from my friends and my relatives, in all of them, my favourite is the book which one of my best gave me. I like reading since I was a litte kid, no matter in what time, for what reason, if I can get a book from friend or my relatives, I will feel happy, I love reading so much.
