What will you be doing tonight to bring in the new year? Will you be watching the ball drop at midnight? Will you be with your sweetie to give him or her a kiss at midnight? We never go out on New Year's Eve anymore. We'll just hang out and watch TV or play games for awhile and have a couple drinks. Then we'll watch the countdown probably starting around 11. I just hope we can both stay awake. We've been so tired lately, put a little alcohol in us and we'll probably pass out at 10pm.

We went to a friend's place which overlooks Sydney harbour. Saw the fireworks and then partied on! Happy New Year everyone!!!

I saw those Fireworks on TV, they looked awesome. I'm in the States though, we watched the Times Square New Year's Eve party, but they showed shots of the fireworks around the world.

I love seeing on TV how all the different cities celebrate. It is a wonderful display of people all over the world being positive, happy and looking forward to the future. I hope your new year brings every happiness.

I'm usually up that late anyway. But I didn't sleep good last night, so we will see. My husband will be tired, so I don't know if he will be able to sit up or not. He was trying to get sick this morning before he left. If we sit up, we will be watching the ball drop. I love to watch the fireworks that they show. Usually, we can see our state fireworks on television unless we forget to change channels.

We don't usually stay up for the fireworks. As soon as the ball drops we turn it off and head to bed. We just aren't as good at staying up late as we used to be.

Well, I'll probably be up. Don't know about my husband since he's been working on our daughter's car at her house all day and just got home about 1 hr ago. We missed the ball dropping last year! We had it on the wrong channel!

I doubt I will be staying up till midnight tonight. I have been going to bed earlier than usual these last few weeks. I will have to take a nap if I am going to stay up that late I think. I have not been staying up until the New Year for a few years.

I'm with you, I've been too tired to stay up much past 10pm. Maybe playing my games will keep me awake for awhile.

I have been going to bed early and getting up later in the morning. I must be getting sick or something. I don't normally sleep for almost 10 hours a night. I normally get more like 7.

Well I did not stay up to see the new year in, we had been invited to a party but of course I gave up smoking and became ill so could not and did not want to go. I ended up in bed at 10pm, I would have been in bed a lot earlier but felt guilty for leavin hubby on his own downstairs too early lol!! Thank goodness I feel better today.

My husband and I had pans to go out but the sitter cancelled so we decided to have a PJ Party with our boys. I made lots of food and my husband and 2 sons made a homemade pizza and we wathced- Space Chimps (very cute movie), then we tuned into Clark's News Year Rockin' Eve. Before midnight we popped the cork and the boys opened their Sprakling White Grape Juice and we did the countdown. Hugs, Kisses, and a toast. We live in Illinois so we were an hour ahead- but that's okay- we did it all again an hour later. We had a great time and I think the boys really enjoyed it too. Hope everyone had a great time and I wish everyone all the best in 2009!!Happy New Year!

We did about the same thing... only we put the kids to bed around 9, and didn't make any food after dinner. We had a few drinks, played some games, watched Clark's special, and headed off to bed shortly there after. I'm in NY, so when the ball dropped in Times Square, that was it for me.

Katsmeow, My family and I will be in church. We normally go around 9:00pm and we stay and have service and we bring the New Year in in church. This has always been a long time tradition and I have passed it on to my children.

If our church was having a watch night service, I'd be there, too. But they decided not to have anything. Lots of the members have been sick. The pastor's wife was going to have something at her house tonight, but decided not to do that, either. I've always enjoyed that when she would do it. They would have a Bible study and fellowship and watch for the New Year to come in.

New year has passed already here in India and i was with my cousins as i am away from home in a different city. We had dinner and was watching a documentary when the clock struck the zero point so we greeted each other and went up to the terrace to see the fire works and also make calls to our friends and families. And after that i came back and now i am here in mylot and wishing all mylotters a very happy new year.

Hi There! Welcome year 2009! Yesterday, I was at work until 10:30 in the evening so I was awake the whole day working here in the office… oh.. hehehe… actually, I was in the office for 9 hours doing Mylotting since we don’t have much work to do. After that, I went straight home. Thank God because there was a cab in the vicinity of our building getting passengers. The taxi cab was nice and quiet, I like that… and he brought me home fast and safe. I give him a tip and say “happy new year!”. He smile and say “Thank you”. Anyways… after that, I didn’t have time to take a nap… since my siblings and cousin started taking pictures and before I knew it, it is already 12 in the morning… lolz…. We have lots of foods last night! And I can say that I had a wonderful New Year’s Eve. Hope you do to. Take care! Thanks for the discussion! Happy Mylotting! Cheers!

Well, we've already had New Years here and I'm at the end of the first day. Has been very hot and interesting. Too hot to do anything but I've caught up with all my brothers and sisters. ALL IN ONE CALL!!! Can you believe it. Anyway, my children have enjoyed their day and so have I. I did see the New Year in and then went to sleep. Not an exciting one, to be sure, but at least I saw it in. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! to you and yours

I'm probably staying up till Midnight although I'm depressed because I can't go out due to the fact that we're having a semi blizzard which is looking more and more to be like a blizzard by the minute. So no going out for me. Just my luck I would step on the ice and fall down and break something. Lovely. Not the way I want to begin 2009.

i doubt that i will be making it to midnight. we've been on the road for the past two days on the road, from to texas to virginia. and i have a six hour drive to home, pa., tomorrow. so i'm sure i'll be getting to sleep before the ball drops.

I hope I get to spend it with someone I consider very special tonight. I hope I get a New Years kiss, but if it turns out that I can't meet with him tonight then I will be spending the night with my son at home. I'm sure I will still stay up until midnight even if I am at home. Happy New Year! Happy MyLotting, SingleMommy
