I would love an English Sheep Dog but I'm thinking it might take over my house. So I'm looking for a small dog that I can keep inside but is bigger than my purse. LOL. It would be great if it didn't shed hair. Any ideas?

Yorkshire Terriers are a good choice. Mine doesn't shed, she had hair instead of fur, and she's onlt 5 and a half pounds.

If you look at my profile, there's a picture of my Yorkie.

I love dogs, especially the small ones. I'm not sure what the English sheep dog actually looks like. I have a Pomeranian and he is small without the shedding.

a chiquaqua comes to mind but they have nasty habits A pom is a small dog but might shed . But then if you brush it and bath it some that should take care of that problem!

I would suggest based on what I've viewed on Animal Planet which is really my only experience with dogs that you get a Yorkie, a toy Pomeranian, or a Chihuahua, or a shiatsu. I hope this is helpful. People actually do carry these dogs around in their purses.

A dog? Have you got a yard it can play in? Or do you have to walk the dog yourself? Here in Berlin and the Netherlands, you have to walk the dog and pick up its .... yuck!! In Canada it was better, I would open the door and the dogs could go and come as they please. I would not want a dog here. Everyday, at least three times a day, walking the dog. In stormy weather, in the cold in the snow. Comes inside, the floor is all dirty... These are things you need to consider. If you don't mind these things, then of course it is no problem. But it is a long term commitment. Take care.
