I am a filthy mess lol

I have been working in the studio all day, pouring baby parts and easter pieces and one valentine bowl. Trying to get stocked up so I can just work on the underglzing and glazing of pieces and not have to worry about pouring a lot when I get busy at work here in a few. I will have atleast one baby ready to be listed on ebay this week. So that is exciting. I am working hard on things. So does anyone else get "dirty" doing thier crafts? Ceramics is messy but so much fun.

Hey that is really neat. I wish I could do things like this. When you get it up PM me with the link so that I can see some of your work. I just might buy it. I love ceramics. We have a shop her that you can go in and paint your own and then they fire it. My kids just love doing this.

Ohh, ceramics. I used to love doing ceramics. I never did get involved doing my own pouring and firing though. When I took it up as a hobby there was this lady that ran a shop and would let people come in and work on pieces. She did the pouring and then we bought the greenware from her. She also stocked the paints and glazes and stains and she would let us use her tools. I think she made a tidy income doing this and it was a lot of fun for me and the other people who made things.

I've never done ceramics but always thought they were neat. Most of my crafts are pretty "clean" but I can make a mess with them. Yarn, patterns and needles for knitting, material scraps, patterns, thread bits, for sewing and rug making can make a mess in the house!

LOL I don't make nearly this big a mess when crocheting lol. I need to sweep the studio again tomorrow after I get home from meeting with a client in the morning. I am supposed to be off work but I had a client call and set up an appt for tomorrow and then my boss called to ask me to work wednesday so much for four days off lol.

I have done ceramics, and yes, it is messy. It is also fun. I get messy when I cook, or when I paint, or when I refinish furniture and woodwork. I guess I am just a mess as well.

Any hobby/job can be dirty. How dirty depends on how 'into' your work your getting. Now me, let me loose in my garden and I'm filthy head to toe at the end of the day but I'm thoroughly wore out and utterly content.

I seem to be able to get in a filthy mess just by going about my daily business. It's probably just as well that I don't do ceramics as well!

Wow! This is very exciting. I used to do so during my school days. But my medium was 'Plaster of Paris'/ 'China Clay' etc.! We used to make toys, and different figurines. I'll be keen to see the finished product. Happy.

The only ceramics I did just involved cleaning and painting, glazing. It was great fun though, to compare how I finished a piece with how someone else does. So not the really messy part of pouring slip, ect. Is it going to be hard to part with this baby you have spent so much time and workj on?

I think it will be hard to part with everyone of them lol. they are my babies my little creations. The one that I will have the hardest time letting go of though will be the newborn size one I am doing.....I am just in love with her.....maybe that is why I am going so slow on completing her lol. I am working on several bundle babies, some small babies and then a couple of newborn size ones. Pouring and cleaning days I just look like a mess.

I've always enjoyed ceramics but it is awfully messy and my hands have gotten more shaky so painting isn't that easy for me anymore. I still do cross stitch now and then and it's more of a really clean hobby. I need to get back to it again. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

No I do not get dirty doing my crafts but I do get dirty doing my gardening and working in the yard. In the summer when the pool is warm enough to swim in I do jump in the pool when I get to hot and need to cool off.

Oh, sure, oil painting is not dirty dirt, but an artist must necessarily get messy once in a while. My gardening is pretty clean, though, because I don't use dirt. No bugs either, yayyyy!

I don't really do any crafts. The only thing I really do that gets me dirty is sometimes cooking/baking and working in the garden. My sister has an ex that is really into making pottery. Vases, plates, bowls, coffee mugs, stuff like that. I hope you were able to get a lot of stuff done for your crafts.

I think I can get messy just looking out the window. I like to write, but I can't seem to do a page without having ink all over my fingers. Cooking is automatically messy. Anything that's fun seems to run hand in hand with messy.
