I can't believe the weather we've had this past year. I think, at least in the U.S., most of us have experienced some strange weather recently. Well, there's a veritable snowstorm happening right this minute and I've NEVER seen snow this late in the year before. I can't even remember snow later than mid-March before. I was just outside two days ago in short sleeves, tending to my garden and got a little sunburn on my nose! It was 70 deg. F just two days ago and here it is, 39 deg. F and snowing! Geez... what's this about global warming? It's not happening HERE! LOL How's the weather where you live? Have you had weather this strange?

It's hard to believe. I live in East Tennessee, On Sunday, my husband and I were sitting out on our front deck, enjoying the sunshine and the beautiful spring weather, it went up to 76 degrees. Gorgeous. Monday we got a bad rain storm, it started cooling down quick. Tuesday, snowed all day long. It's just crazy. But, it is suppose to warm up to 60 degrees today. I sure hope so. Springtime is so beautiful here, I just hope the cold didn't ruin all the new growth.

I hear ya! Most of my fruit and nut trees have blossoms all over them and I've been very concerned about the frost killing them. I watched the bees busily doing their thing one day and snow flying the next. Goofy weather! Well, Springtime generally is a bit unpredictable but within reason! Geez! Tomorrow night is supposed to go down to 28 deg and, once again, I'll be worrying. Hopefully, after tomorrow night, it'll at least stay above freezing. I HOPE so! I have about 500 seedlings I've started inside for my veggie garden this year and they're dying to be planted outside. Okay, maybe THEY aren't dying to be planted, but I'm dying to plant them! My house looks like a greenhouse! LOL

Well, thank goodness I didn't get as bad here in my area as they predicted. And, we survived the tornado scare yesterday. The trees still have their buds on them. So far, so good.

There's been snow here in south central Ohio, too! A couple days ago I was outside happily preparing the dirt for my flower beds and today the dogs and I are watching the snow fall on my flowering pear trees! Thank goodness for global warming or we'd be buried in snow! It's weird. When I was growing up here I don't remember snow in April. We even had a tornado watch this weekend, it's a bit early for that.

Oh, the storms! Gus hates them, he shakes and shivers and has to be on my lap while Cookie isn't really bothered at all. As long as I'm there and hold him, he's ok. He's even better if it's night time and he's under the covers with me, makes him more secure!

I'm not sure where you are, be here in Nebraska we've had similar weather. It was near 70 last Thursday, in the 50s on Friday and for a while on Saturday, then the weather got so bad power went out for up to 10 hours in areas around me. It snowed like made and lots of wind. I'm so ready for real Spring weather! But I worry we'll go right from winter weather into summer with no break from the extremes.

I think I remember that happening last year... kinda. It seemed to be very cold, then all of a sudden, it was hot. There may have been a week of spring-type weather, but that was all. I'm in the northernmost part of Virginia. There's a little "pokey-up" part of central Virginia that juts up into West Virginia. That's where I am, in the mountains. (You know, I just realized how odd that is... we have part of WEST Virginia to the EAST of us!) This was quite honestly only my second winter here because we moved here in May 2007, so many this is typical weather, but I can say that we've had unusually windy weather in the past few months. Everyone has been commenting on how windy this winter/spring has been, even those born here. I was born and raised in Maryland and I never saw snow in April before. Last year, like I said, it went from winter into summer with very little spring in-between. But, so far this spring, it's been a wet one (frozen or liquid but mostly liquid). It's raining right now and 46 deg, typical for early April.

It was 1980 or 81 I believe when my cousin got married in Ga the first week of April. I remember it being April, because we had a blizzard and were out of school for a week! I hope your snow goes away quickly!

Yeah, Georgia doesn't get all that much snow. Well, maybe the mountains do, but not the rest of the state. There have been times though! Good luck with the veges!

Those unusually warm Spring days are just a tease! It's not fair!!! I'd love it if it would stay around 70 or 75 deg. F all year round! I could give up snow for perfect temperatures any day!

I can't believe the weather outside. It's true 2 days ago it felt like spring, today I go outside and it's freezing! I had to run back upstairs and put on my heavy coat. I just about had it with this weather, I can't take the cold anymore. Something definitely ain't right...maybe it is global warming. A snow storm is definitely ain't right at all! lol From 70 deg, to a snow storm that's odd. I just want the warm weather to hurry up.

Me, too!!! I adore gardening and when we get one or two really nice days when I'm able to get out and start getting ready for my veggie garden, then it's snowing, it hurts my brain!!! I don't like the cold, either. I have some medical conditions that scream at me all winter. They typically say the same thing, over and over, "MOVE SOUTH, DUMMY!!!" But, I think I'm here to stay. Maybe, if my dreams come true, we'll be able to build an atrium all the way around the house so I can walk "outside" and still be warm in the winter! I could also grow my veggies year-round which I would absolutely adore. Come on, warm weather, get here and stay!!!

Here in Ohio, we know to expect winter weather up until Mid-May. Insane, I know...but that's Ohio weather for you; freaky. It was 29 degrees the other day and wouldn't stop snowing. I woke up today and everything was covered in white...it snowed off and on today, too. And they're talking about more snow the rest of this week! btw, that's why I don't advocate global warming. Climate change. A natural and constant occurance that's measurable (both amazing and bad, depending on the peoples and species' adaptions) *rolls my eyes* lol. This...strange? This is frustrating, not so much strange. Strange is how we didn't have an autumn or spring for 2007-2008. Just winter-summer, winter-summer. We've had spring-like winter this year, but I'm wondering if I'll have to say that "2009 we ALMOST had a spring" next year, at this point.

I just think of rain when I think of April. My birthday is next week and, except for only two years that I can remember, it has always rained on my birthday. This year, I wouldn't be surprised if it snowed! You're right about early Spring being unpredictable but I never thought I'd see snow this late in the season. Rain, sure, extreme temperature variations, yep, that too. But snow? Geez. Well, hopefully May will bring more constant temperatures and NO MORE SNOW! LOL

Hi there my mental ward friend. We had one year like that back in Romania but not now. What is there to be mentioned is how spring (a rather summer looking one) took the place of winter, in the sense that from 29-30 deg F it got up to about 55-65 in a matter of 1-2 days. At the moment it is still hot out here, in the sense that at 11:15 a.m. we have about 49-50 deg F and it will go up to 62 def F at noon.

No I think I have never experienced such strange weather as of yet. But I do agree that the weather is becoming strange these days because of the effect of global warming. We experience summers for a longer time and winters are really small. SO this is really strange that we have such diverse experiences and so our body also suffers.

We had that weather early last week. It was almost 70 degrees on Monday, then, we had snow. Just this week, it was cool, but not too cold on Saturday, and we woke up on Sunday to about an inch of snow that was gone by noon. Yeah, I think the weather has been pretty crazy lately.

So much for Global warming right? It snowed all day today here, we got about 3", just when I though it was over. I can't remember the last time it snowed in April, much less getting this much. It's very depressing, I want to get out and garden.

Its not snowing here but it is unseasonably cold. In texas in april its usually in the 80's to low-mid 90's. Sunday, Monday and today its been in the 40's. I had to turn my heater on last night. Im not ready for it to be 100 degrees outside but being in the 80's would be nice and that is where the temp is suppose to be.

So, it's colder than normal there, too. This is some strange weather we've been having, huh? It's supposed to go down to 25 deg. tonight when it should only be in the upper 40's or lower 50's this time of year. I would be happy with it just being in the 60's, which is about right for where I live, in northern Virginia. But, snow? All my flowers are blooming outside and it's so strange to see snow falling with all these flowers in bloom. I hope it's just one of those things that happens every so often and not a trend! Here's to warmer weather for both of us!

I cant believe its snowing in Virginia. I'm from Minnesota and I thought we had it bad. Our last snowfall was two nights ago and it was freezing outside. Today is sunny and around 45 degrees. I know I'm tired of all this cold and stuff, I'm definately ready for the summer!!!

I took a few pictures of the snow but haven't uploaded them yet. It is very rare for it to be snowing this late in the season but, from what I've seen of the weather across the nation, a lot of places are having very unusual weather lately. I saw that snow you're talking about. It was on our news and I was thinking, "I'm so glad we don't live there!" Maybe this is the same system, I don't know. I'm right there with you being tired of all this cold! It's time to warm up and STAY warmed up, darn it! I'm worried about my fruit trees that have already blossomed. I was just watching the bees busily pollinating them two days ago. I hope this cold and snow doesn't kill the blossoms! Well, all we can do is hope for the best, huh? Here's hoping we all get the weather we're used to for this time of year!

I live in Ohio and the weather is just wonderful! It snowed last night and everything is buried under a blanket of snow and the temperature is a chilly 27 degrees! I just love it! You see I am allergic to heat, humidity and the sun so when I see the weather is getting warm and sunny I start to get depressed because all summer I have to stay in my air conditioned bedroom with foil on my windows to block out the sun till summer is over! Every year during summer I end up in the hospital because of my allergies so you can see why I only love winter! Everybody else hates this snow but I love it! If I can live in only winter the rest of my life, I'd be totally happy!

It was back into the 70's today. But we just had two back to back winter storms! We needed the moisture so it is all good. This week we are putting some plants in... cross your fingers for me.

It has been in the 40's here the last two days- started getting cold on Sunday afternoon. And we've had freezing weather in the morning. Tomorrow it will be 70 degrees and supposed to be 33 in the morning! This is very unusual weather for us, for sure! Actually, it got up to 50 today, but felt much colder with the wind. It is supposed to be 73 on Sunday, but it's going to rain. We haven't planted anything, knowing it would get killed.

Hey there mentalward, nice to see you're still with us. Yes, way up here in good ol' T.O. (Toronto Ontario) we got hit with the same thing. I too was surprised this morning to see that nature's white blanket had deposited itself...ON MY LAWN! Dagnabit. I suppose those two or three great days we got there, was just a tease? We had winds here gusting up to 40mph as well....if the snow wasn't enough to begin with. Geez. I agree. Global warming. Where did they get that idea? Oh and by the way, just so we're on the same side, that dang cold snap came from the far reaches of the Arctic...not necessarily Canada per se. So don't blame us, O.K.? Stay warm. cdrxo

Hey mentalward! You have got to be kidding me! You are getting snow? That's not good since you are not that far from me! It's 45 degrees here and so far we are ok! It has been raining her for days! It is really ridiculous with this weather! I don't see a leaf or flower or anything to show me that spring is here except I can here the birds singing! If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't know anything! This is so bad! We have had such a terrible winter and it just doesn't seem like it wants to end ever!

Cold freeze warning is in effect. I went outside today and hurried back in the house is cold out there, I hope the weather gets better before Sunday which is Easter. I really wanted to plant my tomato plant Friday which is Good Friday. I hope all this snow doesn't hurt your plants.
