I am long overdue but finally removed dial up and now have high speed. I can't believe the difference in the way the page loads. Photos are also amazing. What use to take me 20 min. now takes just a min. to view photos. Our kids always made fun of me so now they can't do that anymore. Atleast not about the computer..lol Any myLotters still using dial up?

I am proud of you as well, Mom. I probably should say that more!! High speed is definitely more time saving, and you will have the opportunity to enjoy so many more things the web has to offer! Congrats in moving into the high speed world!!!

Today was the first day I was able to view U-tube. I know that sounds silly but dial up just doesn't cut it! Thanks for the nice compliment and thanks for responding.

Hi carolbee, No, I have never used dialup so wouldn't really know what it was like, but with todays new techs I don't think many people use dialups these days here, I'm glad you are happy with yours. Tamara

That is wonderful. I want to get high speed also but the only thing available to me in my area right now, is about $80.00 a month. That is high so I will wait for my phone company, to hopefully offer it here for me eventually, alot cheaper than that.

We are paying a bundle of money each month but it's well worth it. I didn't have unlimited long distance but do now. Thanks for responding.

Good to hear from you, Howard. I am happy with the change. Atleast I will be until we have a power outage and off goes everything. Thanks for responding.

hello carolbee i know that you like your high speed internet connection over that dial-up connection. and you will find that you will want to spend more time on the internet each day now. btw, what kind of internet service did you go with? i have an AT&T dsl line. i cannot afford to get comcast cable to do my internet connection with. we have a package deal with the telephone company. we have our cell phones, the internet connection and our home telephone service with AT&T. well enjoy your high speed connection. and also, when the phone rings now, you won't get bumped offline. lol take care and have a beautiful day today!

I went with Charter Cable. Had things set up to go with AT&T u-verse but our burglar alarm wasn't compatable. So it was easier to go with cable since we already had the service. For about $40 more, we have long distance and a much faster computer. Our cells are with AT&T so I will leave it as it is. It's all well worth it. I am only about 5 years overdue..lol Thanks for responding.

I came away from dial up a since five years.I shudder at the thought of having a dial up connection. You need to have extra life span to deal with dial up connection.

Once you discover high speed you never want to go back. I got mines over 1 year ago, and love it.

I still do!!! My intent though is to redo my bedroom sometime this summer....move my desk and computer into the spare room where there is cable hookup and get high speed.....it takes so long that I don't watch most videos that people forward to me....but do wait for ones the family pass along.

Did I orphanate you? I thought you had high speed or maybe you were going to hook it up at some point. I downloaded a photo a minute ago on my craft discussion and bet it took 2 min. to load. In the past with dial up, it took sometimes 15 to 20 min. to load a photo. Glad I made the change. Thanks for responding.

I changed over about a year ago. It's a bit more costly but no regrets at all.

Oh, good for you. :o) I, luckily have had high speed for several years (though often it does have slow days). I am very slow at switching softwares and programs too (like I've been on the paying AOL for way too long). ;o)

I had dial up for a year, and than I got the lowest Road Runner and I have no real complaints. Well I have one with videos it does take some time to load but other than that pages load really quick for me too. I love not having dial up anymore and for me I will never go back again. Anyway take care and happy mylotting to you as well.
