Cooking is my hobby but being a mom cooking becomes my duty. Whether cooking is my hobby or a duty...i enjoyed doing it in the name of love for my family. Is cooking a hobby to u or is it a duty?

It is very rare that I like cooking. Most of the days I do it as a duty I have to perform. I stay with my flatmate and after long day's of work we both do not like cooking but we have to. So we do it half heartedly as we have to do it. But say on weekends as I have full time I like cooking new new dishes.

Cooking and baking is my passion and it has become my duty now. But I love this duty. I like trying new recipes and enjoy seeing others eating and enjoying the food that I cooked.

I love to cook, especially baking. But having four kids at lot of time it feels more like a duty. I like to try out new recipes but have to be able to produce meals that everybody will eat. It can be a challenge, my husband has heat and kidney problems so I have to watch salt and how much protein I use. Also my oldest son doesn't like fish but will eat it, so I try not to use fish more than once a week, my 2nd son would eat fish for every meal!!! I'll be happy when the weather here cools down and I can get into the kitchen and do some real cooking!!

Wow! Hard life to be a mom and a wife sometimes...have to cook the right food for everybody and its not an easy job. Yes cooking is more of a duty than a hobby once married especially. Cooking new recipes is exciting and in that way our duty becomes a hobby again.

Both, but i love to cook. I like making new things and I love the way homemade things taste. Like the way homemade Alfredo sauce with real cream and butter tastes so good or how nice fresh vegetables taste. I love cooking.

Cooking use to be a duty for me, when I was younger, I was spoiled people usually cooked for me, so when I had to do it I would think the whole time I cant wait till I am finish with this,it is only now that I actually appreciate just how mentally stimulating cooking can be, when I am in the kitchen I am in a zone, I love it now.

I guess cooking is kind of a duty for me in that I'm married and sometimes just don't feel like cooking. Plus, I usually have to cook 2 different meals because my husband is not into healthy, low calorie meals like I am. He prefers everything saturated with oils, butters, likes his burgers, fries, perogies, large steaks, pizzas. I do appreciate cooking when it's something I enjoy eating, but not the way he likes to eat.

You can send me a message with a good recipe, don't make a discussion about it, mylot does not allow that, so you can send a private message, recipe/jokes are two things that are not allowed here, from what I understand people went over board with the recipes so mylot put a stop to it, I read somewhere if you post about a recipe and make it so you can discuss when your fellow mylotters then it is o.k, just look into before you post o.k read the rules so you can familiarize yourself with the do's/don'ts of mylot.

Well it is my hobby as well as my duty. When I am cooking with interest then it is hobby but when I cook owing to necessity then it is duty. Hobby comes in forefront when I am cooking some special dish that is usually a snack.

things will become boring when it is obsessed to you as your duty but not a hobby which brings a lot of fun .but i think sometimes you can hardly tell duty from hobby, sometimes they are almost same things, and for me neither

I love cooking but not as a hobby but it is a duty as i am a home maker. My husband was a banker and we have had transfers to different parts of India. I used to learn at least two recipes from that particular state/region and add it to my cuisine. This way you get to learn a lot of new recipes which pleases the family. Happy mylotting.

Its a bit of both for me. Most of the time i enjoy cooking and see it as a hobby but really its my duty, and sometimes when i am too tired or just cant be bothered it feels like a bit of a burden, but i still have to do it because its my duty.
