My Friend's Gift Was A.......

I received advice from some of you MyLotters about what to do for my friend who was starting College today. Then when I told everyone what I had planned to do I got some very mixed responses from all of you. Well, I am happy to say that the gift was actually a success. He said that he loved the poem and the note that I wrote him and he also said that the stocking cap was just his style. So I guess ultimately I did great! I spend most of the afternoon with him yesterday and then today I texted him to wish him luck. He texted back and said "Thanks" then a little while later he texted again and said that it was like going back to high school. I know he is going to do great!

I'm glad your friend liked your gift. I'm starting college soon and I've had a headache deciding what to get my friends as a sort of farewell gift. I got them some keychains with their names on them. Hopefully they like it. I wish your friend have good luck in college too.

I knew it would all work out. Whether they admit it or not guys need some extra special attention every now and then too. Everyone likes to know that someone cares about them, even if it is just a friend. My husband and I started out as friends and now we have three kids with our first going away to college this year. Friendships can blossom into something bigger if you give it time.

I am glad things worked out so well. It's always nice when a gift is such a big success. I had a birthday party to go to last weekend, and I gave my friend a copy of a book that a friend of mine had written, and she absolutely loved it. She had been wanting to get it, and I gave her a copy. It was nice to give a gift, and help a friend sell a book. I'm glad we both had successes with gifts.

That is wonderful to hear. I am glad that everyone could help you out with this. I'm also glad to hear that everything is going well in college for your friend also. Good luck to both of you in the future too.

It works huh. Sometimes it is good to have others opinion when you are lost to what words to say to someone that touches your heart. Surely he will miss you a lot as much as you are. But remember to keep him accompany through all your sweet phone messages. Getting concern from you is all he needs in his hours of loneliness.

guess I missed that discussion but I am glad it all worked out for you. Looks as if you went with your heart and it paid off which is more than likely what I would have advised you to do.

That’s great! I am glad that he loved his gift; it was a very thoughtful idea. It is helpful to receive different kind of feedback about a thought, it clarifies things, I think. I hope your friend does well in his new endeavour.

Any gift given from the heart will be appreciated. Your friend probably cared more about the fact that you thought to give him a gift for the occasion than actually getting the gift.
