a friend here at mylot started a discussion that got me thinking about this. i answered in hers about a weird cure for leg cramps at night. when i used to have them a friend told me to place a bar of soap under my bottom sheet near the feet. IT WORKED! no one knows why it works, it just does. so, that said how many of you here have found a weird cure or even any cure that works for a pain or ailment? maybe we can find out more for helping each other on this.

I think some strange cures have to do with belief. Sometimes when you believe in something enough, it might happen. And I don't mean supernatural stuff, I just mean if you maybe have a damaged leg and you do something that is said to heal it, your belief might actually help to heal it.

I have heard of this one, and even tried it a time or two. It is interesting to see that this one does work, and I am surprized it is not more widely told to people as well. As for other ones, I am sure there are some I just have never heard of them yet.

I have heard of this cure before. Beats the heck out of me as to where I heard it though. It was either on here or Gather.

Hi bunnybon7, Gees, I'll have to ry that cure myself next time I have cramps in bed, the only thing I can think of is when cutting onion and your eyes water, dab cold water on your toes, that really helps for me. Tamara

i've also found that if the onion is very cold, like kept in the refrigerator, it helps keep down the fumes that burn your eyes. here lately tho i've just used my sons little chopper

Hi there bunnybon7 Wow that is weird but I am glad it works for you! The only thing I came across was once when my ex got stung by a bee he immediately went to the kitchen, cut a clove of garlic in half and asked me to rub it on the sting. He said that it didn't hurt after that but boy did he stink! hahaha

Here is a good one, if you have toenail or fingernail fungus, put some Vicks vapor rub on the nail two times a day, soon you will have new nice nail growth. it takes awhile but be patient, it really does work. Its cheap and no side effects.

Hey, that's great, I'm gonna try it. I sometimes get horrid leg cramps that are really bad. and I can do nothing to fix them. They are supposed to go away quickly because they are a muscle spasm but mine keep going. Does it matter what kind of soap? Is one better than another?

My cramps last several seconds rather than going away almost at once. I get most of my cramps at night. Thanks...

i have used the cheapest soap from the 99cent store so it doesnt matter. but it wont help during the day i dont think. i may be wrong but this is mostly for night cramps. i never noticed if it stayed with me during the day.

I think that's a cool cure although it's a bit weird. I might try it sometime, should I have night cramps ever. But do you have to sleep to do that..? What if you are staying up late at night and you have a cramp..can you just place the bar of soap somewhere where say, you're doing stuffs or something? LOLz.. I know that's a weird question from me, just thinking.

not sure. eventually you lay somewhere, right? i would go ahead and put that soap somewhere under something near my feet or legs. it used to work for me under my bottom sheet. havent had them lately so havent done that. but i used to stay up really late, but eventually had to lay down

I wonder if it really works. I hate leg cramps at night, they wake me up at times and I have to stand up to get them to go away. I'm very tempted to try the soap!

hi bunnybon7 I have heard of this before but do not know 'why it would work. i do know that for me if I do not 'drink at least 8 to ten glasses of water in one day 'I will sure as shooting have awful painful leg cramps because the electrolyte balance of my blood has been screwed up. also if you eat a lot of salty food you will be a prime candidate for painful leg cramps. So drink more water in either case along with that banana for the potassium that also stops leg cramps.why hurt' when there are cures for the causes?

One time i had this little thing on the outter calf of my leg. I do not know what it was. It bothered me itching all the time for like at least a year. I accidently shaved the top off before but it still was there and itching. Two friends of mine, one from Jamacia and one from Africa told me to put ash on it. So i shaved the top and put herb(maryjane) ash on it. It was scary because i was afraid of infection. I figured if it became infected i would go to the clinic. But guess what? It cleared up! It has never itched again there is only i little scar where it was. I followed the advise of 2 friends that knew about old world cures.

that vicks petroleum jelly works pretty well for nail fungus. i tried it in desperation by a friends suggestion for my mom,and sure enough it worked.it must smother the fungus or something.

Having trouble getting to sleep. I read that putting about four megnesium/calcium tablets on my bedstand and taking them at night when I go to bed really does help me get to sleep. I have told others and it seems to help them as well. Yes, helping one another with cures is a good thing.

i dont really understand how it works. it only works for when you are in bed. you put a bar of soap, any kind, under your bottom sheet near where your feet are going to be. thats it.

Hi Bunny! Cool avatar. If you find a chest with pizza in it, Tukay wants to come visit you...lol. Interesting about the soap working. Since most people buy soap that they like the smell of, I wonder if the aromatherapy is relaxing and helps the cramps?

I did heard that there is folk prescription existed while people meet the strange diseases. But I better suggest that go to the professor, docotor or encyclopedia first prior to apply in case any side effect. Human being has a long history to survive, I am sure you are not the guy who happened to that kind of ailment. I am worried that there is no antidote if any side effects occured.

maybe for some natural cures there could be side effects but what could a bar of soap hurt? we use it all the time
