Yes, I've fallen down my fair share of stairs. I've even fallen UP stairs! Hope you heal up quickly.

I used to live in a townhouse that had a spiral stair case and on many occasions especially in the dark I used to fall going up the stairs! My mother had an accident once when she fell down a steep staircase. My sister was a little baby and about 30 seconds before my mum took that fateful step down the stairs she handed my sister over to my grandmother and thank God she did because she had a very bad fall which resulted in extensive bruising which took ages to heal and if she had the baby in her arms the result could have been disastrous!

I am very sorry to hear that. I hope you heal quickly and get to feeling better soon. I have never fell down stairs before but I have hurt my legs on other things. I was sore for quite some time also. Try to take it easy.

Not yet, but I have tripped over the roots of a big tree and once when I tripped over a rock, I fell and broke my ankle. It was in a cast for 5 weeks, but it got 100% ok again after a time.

No. I haven't but my favorite dog in all the world did. He was my ex-husband's and after I left the poor dog got mighty old. He was left in the house during the day because he could get out the gate and had gone to doggy jail one too many times. His hips were bad and it was getting hard for him to get around. I guess we should of had him put down but just bring ourselves to do it and never thought it would come to this.

Sorry to hear about that! It is always painful when falling down the stairs. I have slipped once. It was early in the morning as I was getting ready to work. I was going downstairs and I don't know how on the very first step, I slipped from four steps above. Lucky, I didn't knock my head or anything, but I was 'sliding' with my back leaning to the steps. That was so painful especially my backbone. Shocked, I just sit there for a while.

I have experience tripped on the stairs of overpass here near my place. It was hight and that was the worst tripped ever done as I went down hurting my waist and foot. One foot became bulge and I can’t stand. It was good that there was this one man who helped me until I reached the PUJ to come to went back home, because I can no longer have the courage to go to work because I can’t move already. I was absent from work three days because of that. And I remember I never cross that over pass again because of shame. But now I use it again to carefully cross the highway. Now because I was traumatized by what happen , you can see me walking down the stairs slowly. I am now being careful after what happen. To be honest, I don’t like stairs anymore, I am having the hard time to walk down than to walk up.

When I first moved into my house it had carpet tiles on the landing of my upstairs. One night I was going down the steps and one of the nails had come loose...my slipper got caught on the nail and I had already stepped off with the other foot....lost my balance and tumbled down the stairs. I tried to catch myself and ended up scrapping all the skin off my arm on the rough plaster..when I landed it knocked the breath out of me.....and I twisted my ankle on the way down....I am very careful now when I go down the stairs.....

I have almost fallen downstairs a couple of times recently! Tonight, the pocket of my sweater caught on the banister and gave me a pretty rude tug. The other day my slipper caught against my pants leg and nearly sent me flying! I'm very careful on the stairs, I live alone and it's hard telling when anyone would find me if I couldn't make it to the phone.

I have fallen UP stairs, and DOWN stairs. Upstairs was more of just a tripping. I've not watched where I'm going or just plain say tried to jump down a few stairs, or I've even just plain been down a person's flight of stairs that I hadn't gotten used to yet.

Hey jugs! I can't even count the times that I have tripped and fallen down a flight of stairs! Or fallen up a flight of stairs! I am very clumsy and am always rushing and moving way too fast! So I have fallen both up the stairs and down the stairs and have gotten hurt pretty badly quite a few times doing both!

I usually trip up the stairs but yes i have also fallen down them just not quite as often as I have fallen up them but still have. Just this past summer my husband and I were walking out to go to our town parade and as I was walking down my back steps I slipped on the last step and completely fell right on my behind only the cushion in my bottom didn't help cushion my fall I was sore after that ans walked around like I was 80...after a few days I felt better, I never felt sick like you mentioned though I would be concerned if this sickness continues. Other than a bruised ego I haven't had any sick feelings.

I am so sorry to hear that. For me I have never slipped down the stairs yet but I slipped on the wet ground in front of every body in our university lobby. That was so embarrassing. I was freshmen that time and I had my first class in the math building since that is were most of my subjects are. Almost all of my classmates were there already, they are the civil and mechanical engineering students, and most were boys. We are only three girls in the class and I made a very embarrassing thing in front of them...LOL

hi jugsjugs I tripped over a broken sidewalk , lost my' balance, and landed on my left shoulder. I had started out to go to my favorite cafe for breakfast. I fell at the side of the cafre, and ended up in E.R. and then in surgery as the shoulder bones were smashed, Ihad to have' an artificial shoulder joint put in, and now I can not lift my left arm but to my waist. woe, alas. but that is what happens when your replace natural bones and muscles' with artifical stuff.

Who hasn't slip in their lives. I remember tripping at work in the hallway. No one was around but I just couldn't believe I had fallen. I was a bit shaken for awhile but its better then falling on concrete with ice over it.
