It was a hot sunny day. I was riding a jeepney and even with the refreshing wind, I was still feeling hot and uncomfortable. I was wearing a yellow sleeveless tank top. And then I saw this girl. She was wearing a black, long sleeves top and she was wiping her sweat in her forehead. I was bothered! Yes, I was bothered. I saw her clothes and I was like, "darn, it's so hot!". Don't misunderstood. Just looking at her black long sleeves top, made me feel like I was the one wearing it. How can she wear something like that on a hot sunny day?? And she goes wiping her forehead?? Doesn't she know that black absorbs more heat? I could have forgiven that she was wearing a long sleeves, as long as it wasn't black. As long as it was a light-colored top. As long as it was appropriate for the weather! .

IS that gal kinda crazy or a favourite of black?? hehe ^_^ I guess nobody or not much ple will wear that on a hot sunny day!! Not to mention all the sweat etc, but the heat being trapped in the top!! It makes not much difference to being in the oven!! lol =D Even for me, for hot weather, i will not even be wearing long sleeves in the first place, regardless of light color or not.. hehe ^_^ If i'm going shopping or malling which i know will be cold, i will bring a jacket instead, and be wearing my sleeveless top.. hehe ^_^

Yeah, that's what I do too. When I go to the mall, I bring a jacket or a sweater or something to fight the cold. And while not yet in the mall, I wear light clothes if it's a hot sunny day.^^

I think she likes the color black; that's why. Sometimes certain people work in air-conditioned offices so they don't really mind wearing black clothing. But a lighter color might be the best bet for a warm weather. Especially when it's really sunny.

Oh yeah, that reminds me. I have a friend who likes the color black that wears it even if its hot and sunny. And I don't really approve of it.^^

Haha, seems like some people really love it huh.. nothing much we can do. I have a couple of people whom I know loving black colors as well. Sometimes, me too, but if the weather's really warm and all, I tend not to.

So what was the point of this topic? Was it to show that you feel the need to comment on what other people wear? I'm glad we have you on the fashion police for that. So what if she was wearing a long sleeve black shirt on a hot day. There are many reasons for it and you'll probably never know so get over it and move on with your life. I am so glad though that you say "I could have forgiven that she was wearing a long sleeves, as long as it wasn't black. As long as it was a light-colored top. As long as it was appropriate for the weather!." I'm sure that would have made her feel so much better knowing you could have forgiven it if it wasn't a black shirt.

What was the point of this topic?? I felt I just needed to share that I felt more uncomfortable than ever during a hot sunny day because I saw a girl wearing an uncomfortable clothes. That's it.

Other than it being black.. give her a break. I NEVER wear sleevless anything. I don't think my arms look good hanging out! My skin is white, doesn't tan and even in my younger years, I just didn't think I looked good and was not comfortable in sleeless. Another reason was the armholes are usually so big, that one wrong move and anyone can see "down your shirt" via the armhole! I also never wear shorts...again, my legs are white and look bad just all that white sticking out and no tan or color! I also have a slight weight problem and of course that is in my theighs and I just think that fat thighs shouldn't be shown off. And mine are not near as huge as some I have seen! But even younger, when I was slim...white legs just hanging out just didn't look nice to me. So maybe this was her similar issue to. I always wear sleeves of some kind. But I will wear light colors on hot days. Or maybe she didn't intend to be doing what she was doing when you saw her, but did it anyway and only had that long sleeve shirt and couldn't take it off.

Okay, okay. I'll give her a break.^^ With all the possible reasons given here, I am definitely giving her a break. Oh I am not that self-confident too but as much as possible I want to be comfortable so even if my underarms is not that white, I still wear sleeveless. And I wear sleeveless with small armholes so nothing else can be seen except for my underarm. And if I am wearing sleeveless, I lessen the instances that I raise my arms. LOL

I think its possible that she was trying to make herself hot- to make herself sweat out some water weight. I know some people (with body image issues) that purposely wear lots of clothes on hot days so they sweat a lot. :o

Some people are just sooo clueless on what proper clothes to wear on different weather/seasons. I've seen a lot of them on public places and I must agree that they really are eyes sores! But what can we do? I'ts a free country and anyone can wear what they want to wear.. and if you see one, I advice you to just look the other way or just think that they may be hiding something underneath those extra clothes. lol

That's true. Something's might be hidden underneath it. Oh well, yeah, I probably should just look the other way if I saw another like that.^^

It is so comforting to know that I am not the only person who doesn't like the Summer, I sometimes wonder if I am weird because I get SAD during June, July and August our Summer months whereas others get SAD in the Winter months. Even in the Winter I never put on many clothes because I feel the heat more, I wished I lived in a colder climate or could hibernate or emigrate in our Summer months. I prefer the cold and I hate being uncomfortable so when it's hold I wear as least clothes as possible but being decent LOL! Some people just don't have a clue when it comes to dress sense to combat the different weather conditions. Me I just want to feel cold all the time. I hate sweating.

Hi wolfie!^^ Yes, you're not alone! I don't like summer too! I don't like the heat, I don't like the sun. I do like dressing for the summer. I like wearing light clothes.^^ I also prefer the cold weather. I don't hate sweating, I can't hate it because that's a vital process of our body. But if I can avoid it, I will.^^

Some people don't think about comfort when they select their clothing, they just select the first thing they find when in their closet. I usually think about the weather or the occasion before I select my attire. I think comfort is the most important element when selecting your outfit.

I think she may be working in SM. He he he! I noticed that some of their sales promos are now wearing black long sleeves. I heard that eventually, they would all be wearing black long sleeves. Just the thought of such get up is enough to make me reel. LOL!

Back then, the nearest SM was in Sta.Rosa, Laguna so that's possible but unlikely because she wasn't wearing slacks.

Hahaha~! That really annoys you that much?? I happen to be one of those who sometimes wear dark clothes and go out when the sun is right there blazing away. I don't know. Even if I know that wearing something dark on that time of the day is surely not practical, I end up doing it. Its like unconsciously, I know that something like this would happen but, I am still choosing which black shirt I am going to wear as I think of it in the back of my head Anyway, these day, I try to avoid it. Good thing, even if I do get to wear dark colored clothing, I don't go out that much when the sun is high. I am stuck in the office doing work and all those busy things that employees are expected to do.. About the vexing sensation of seeing someone going through the ordeal of wearing something dark on a sunny sunny day, I think I don't feel any unsettling sensation, unless it is someone that I know. With the one without any shirt, I guess they should really look like fit and right models or else, I would be really displeased with their flab out and exposed (^_^")

I do try to avoid a headache from being exposed to too much heat and then suddenly getting into a cold environment.. I really don't like headaches while at work.. Well, I get to see those middle-aged men exposing themselves like that.. I can hardly do that with my slim built frame..

LOL. I think I am actually like that. I have at times worn black when it's sunny and hot. I just don't like my arms and I can not wear any short sleeves or tank tops outside no matter what. I'm crazy like that. But I don't wear black everyday during the summer. I think I'm getting over that so maybe this summer I'll wear some short sleeves. I've heard other people tell me that I am make them hot by wearing long sleeves during the summer and I just don't understand at all.

I would be one of those other people. lol I can't understand it myself either. I easily feel the hot weather just by seeing people wrapped with "winter clothes". Maybe because I'm a cold person, I mean I like the cold weather and I'm allergic to heat and sweat.

Hi, secretbear. I see that is silly. I know that some people wear dark colored clothing because they want to sweat off the heat on their bodies. And this is when they will exercise a lot. I have seen many people wear dark and long sleeved clothing while they were out and about. I know that if it is very hot outside, the last thing that I want to be wearing is a long sleeved shirt that is too dark. I like to feel cooll as much as possible.

Hi cream! I understand those people who wear thick sweater when they are jogging in the morning or in the evening because it helps them sweat easily. But this girl wasn't really going to jog, she was dressed like she was going to a mall or somewhere.

I soo know what you mean. There are just those visual stimulants that sometimes would affect us greatly. Food is the most common of them. When we just see delectable food we would crave for them or have the urge to have a bite of what we saw. However, in your situation, I would have to guess that the girl you saw chose fashion over comfort. Perhaps her overall sense of personal style is the "emo" look. She chose to wear her style even if it's against the weather. Some people would just go to great lengths to weat what they want rather than wear for comfort. Another possibility is that her destination is quite cold, a mall perhaps? or somewhere that would force her to brave that kind of clothing in hot commute weather, knowing that at the end of her journey, she would experience cold relief..? Those are just my guesses anyway.^_^

Yeah, I get what you mean with the food too. I sometimes get hungry when I saw a particular food.^^ Well, she didn't look like "emo" to me. Aside from that black tee, there's no other indicator that she's "emo". And if ever she was really going to a mall or somewhere cold, couldn't she just wear something light and bring along a jacket or something?? And then wear the jacket when she's already in the mall.^^

Hmm, maybe she was going to a party(reminds me of the "emo"-themed Halloween party we had.LOL) Anyway, she must've had really good reason for donning that attire in such a weather. Whatever it was, I hope that it was worth the trouble.

wow. i can't imagine wearing black shirt on a sunny day. Even wearing one at home at normal temp also feel not nice. when it's so sunny outside, i will tend to not going out. unless it was so important that makes me unwillingly need to go out no matter what. It's burning hot. haha

Oh bear! Its wonderful to respond to your discussions again….how are you? Summer is my favourite season, I’m so glad that winter’s on its way out. Nevertheless some people do dress stupidly for summer. While our dress should be decent enough, we must take the weather into consideration too! I wonder why that girl was in full-sleeved tops! Maybe its some sort of uniform for her!!! But what I find most irritating is the way some girls move around in this heat with lots of make-up and hair blowing open in the air…you can actually see their sweating brows but it seems just a fashion to leave your hair open and they just follow blindly without thinking about comfort *ugh*

May be the girl is poor. Whatever clothes she had, she wore it. My friend's grown up son wore sweater on summer season and all of us asked her why he is wearing it. She said he likes that sweater and feels good whenever he wears that. He is going to some office to get some work done. He wants self confidence and this gives him self confidence. Though it sounded ridiculous for all of us, may be that boy has some confidence level when he wears it. People have their own equations.

I like black. It is beautiful and can trick the eyes to make a person look slimmer. But yes, it is absorbing heat. In hot weather like ours, wearing black is like being baked in a hot oven. I would never wear black during the day time.

Maybe she has a job where that is what she is required to wear! I love hot days, as long as they are not too humid, and I am never comfortable going sleeveless --except in the swimming pool, lol. But you are right about the black absorbing the heat ;-)

Yeah, maybe. But if it was required in her job, then she should just wear it inside their office or company or wherever it is required. She doesn't have to wear it outside in a hot day if it's making her uncomfortable.^^

I will try again, Mylot didn't let me send what I wrote last time or at least it didn't indicate that it did. The person might have been told that she can't wear light colored clothing because it shows off certain things that she shouldn't be showing. It might be part of her religion to wear black or she may be part of a group that wears black and long sleeves if in mourning for the loss of a loved one. I have to wear long sleeves, but not black, because I am very fair skinned and my skin will burn if I don't wear long sleeves. Let's see if I can send it this time.
