Dearra is funny

Tonight we were driving to dinner and on the way we passed a brand new blue corvette. Dearra saw it and wanted to know what kind of car it was. "A Corvette", we said. "Aren't those things really uncomfortable," she asked. "They're made for speed." "What, to impress a girl?" "No it's more like to impress the other guys." "Hey, look everybody," she said, "I made my Hot Wheels life sized!"
And then while their dad was shopping for clothing, the kids were playing tag. Well sort of. The twins were and Dearra wasn't totally into it. Plus I left her watching the bags for a minute. So when Naomi made her count, she did and then said, "ready or not, here I don't come".
So then we pass the dresses, right by where we bought her graduation dress, and I saw a yellow one in a similar style. So I showed it to her and she said, "oh yeah, that dress says 'hello world, I'm a bumble bee'".

No I don't find Deana funny , just an old , sensible soul. She Has been here before. I must have said things like this to my mom because she called me an old soul too. She is just older than he age. She Knows what she wants and has a good B.S detector. Is she a Capricorn? She sounds like one, lol. If she is , she Is my girl. Us Capricorns have to stick together!

hi dawnald how funny and I can see the image myself. what a bright
sharp little girl. wow. I had a blue dress when I was in my early twenties that I r eally loved but my younger sister really did
a number on me. she said my dress made me look like I was sick and
the dress was feeling sorry for me.Well I still wore it a lot bu t
that image of looking sick stuck with me.

I guess I should explain my younger sister had brain damage at birth so she did look at a lot of things differently than most p eople do. She
should have been in a special school when she was little but my mom would not hear of it and my dad was so furious at having a child with birth defects he didnt even care. he was so callous he nicknamed her Jinx as she was born on Dec.13th. My dad was a mean hearted man and why my mom did not divorce him was always beyond me but of course back in the twenties and thirties divorce was still a bad word. instead they seemed to love to fight all the time. and i had to live with it. No I would not put up with a man like my dad who was mostly angry all the time about something. If I had been married to a man like that I would have divorced him for sure.

Well that makes a huge difference. It sounded like she was being mean, when really she was just seeing things differently.

Your daughter has the best outlook on life and a sense of humor.. I hope nothing stifles that. So what has she aspired to be when she is grown up? A comedian?

The bumblebee thing was even funnier with the tone of voice she was using.

Hi Dawn,
Oh well, she’s still into the “car thing” early and related the yellow dress to being one of the transformers hehehehe. This is funny cute Dawn. No dull moments with your kids! Enjoy the holiday--Happy 4th of the 7th.

I love her wit . . . sounds like she gets it from you!! She's quick with the come backs - what a cool quality to have at her age. I wish I were more verbal like her when I was younger - I always hesitated to use my words - I think I would have coped better with certain issues in my tween/teen years.

Like me, in a situation where she's comfortable. I would never make it on TV or something. I'd clam up.

I really like her saying that she made her Hot Wheels life sized. That is absolutely hilarious. She is pretty smart in that she was able to come up with something like this. I would have never thought about something like that, but then I am the kind of woman that likes cars and am impressed by cars. I also like that she thought to say that she wasn't coming to get the twins. She really is a very smart girl.
