Talking to dogs

Do you talk to your dogs? Do you think they listen? Alright you may call me crazy, but everyone in my family talks to our 3 dogs. I talk to them all the time. It makes me feel like someone is here, especially when the kids are gone to school. If one of our dogs sneeze we even say bless you. We talk to them like they understand us. I think they understand, maybe not what saying, but they know you are talking to them. They know when we are happy and sad, so they do sense feelings. What do you think?

I talk to our dogs all the time. Sometimes I get more sense out of them than I do out of the rest of the household combined!

I do indeed talk to my dog all the time. And hopefully she does understand what I'm saying to her. There are times when I wonder what they see when they look at us and what they think of us, or are they too busy thinking of what treat their owner is going to give them next? There are times when she just comes out of nowhere and lays her head on my leg and just looks up at me with these beautiful brown eyes and my hear just melts. She licks me and hugs me when I'm sad as well. Dogs are just like us it's just that they dont' speak our language they bark. But I think that in some way they do understand what we are telling them.

Dogs are the world's most interesting and loyal animals. Although I long to have one, I can't because of my asthma. Well, talking to them might as well be a way to relieve you of your stress, or maybe just that you need a companion. I think they do understand what we're saying, you know. Yea they do have feelings, just like humans. Oh boy, how I long that dogs can talk like us.

Sometimes I would just like to talk to my dogs than talk to any human being.lol! They are more sensible to talk to. They will just lick you and sniff you. Humans reply by retaliating still and they would talk nonsense!

No, you're not crazy. Actually, talking to your pets is really just normal, or really recommended. It tightens the bond between you and your pets. And also, they are the ones who can comfort you whenever you don't have anyone to turn to when you are sad or have problems. You will notice that when your pets are getting close to you, they will be the first to come near you whenever you arrive at home and you don't have to call them anymore. It is so comforting. Pets are really man's best friend. They know your emotions, they know how to comfort you and they sometimes understand what you're saying.

I have a dog that I also talk in my free time, there are also three of them, and other dogs in the street. I talk to them to say my feelings, and to ask them something, but sadly, they don't answer. Well, probabbly, our dogs can hear us. Dogs are able to distinguish quite few different words, and that's why they can play tricks. And though they can't completely understand you words, they can distinguish the tone of your voice in every attitude you're in. So, Ithink they can hear us.

Dogs understand and listen more than you know or realize. They care more than some people do. When talking to them they listen more than most people. Watch their eyes, ears and body movements. They get totally into your conversation, again more than most people. I train dogs for obediance and guard. When I start training most dogs just listen now and then. By the time I am almost done or near compleation of training then totall watch and listen to what I and doing, which peeves most owners off. Their dog is listening to me, not to them. I have to show them how to get their dogs attension back.

I am always talking to my dog Emma. She is my pal, and I treat her just like she is one of my children! She is the only child I have. She is fun to talk to you. She looks at me and acts like she knows what I am talking about. It's funny. Emma has the best facial expressions! They know when we hurt and when we are happy! Animals are very smart and some people don't give them the credit they deserve! We can tell them all of our problems, and they will listen! AND, they are always loyal and never leave our side! I talk to Emma all the time! I enjoy talking to my dog! And, she LOVES to listen!

When we used to have a dog during our teens, we would talk to them as well. They may not respond to you in our language but they would either bark or act as if they do understand. They are really gentle pets. Nice to have one again but we don't have a place for them at home for now.

I talk to my dog, too. Someone would say I talk too much with her I've seen so many times the anger on people's faces when they hear me talking to my dog while we are walking! Not many people understand that, only dog lovers know how it feels and do not judge me. So, you're not crazy for talking to your dogs. Neither your family members are. It's a normal behaviour for dog lovers. Be sure that here, where we are a lot of dog lovers, nobody judge you.

I do not think you are crazy because i talk to my dog and i he understand me, he usually crawls up to me when i am sad and depressed and will put his head on my lap and try to make me say something. And i end up sharing my feelings and eventually feel better. My do also understands that i am angry about something and will hide, if he has biten my shoe or the carpet. Dogs are like kids and they are more understaing then human beings, they love you unconditionally and never ask for anything in return. You are not crazy my friend. You are more in touch with your human self. Have fun.

I talk to my dogs. They love being talked to, I kiss them, hug them. I think they understand what we are saying through our tone we used when we talk to them. When one of my dog, breaks something, she knows she did something as she hides from me. I will have to talk to her in a stern voice to make her know I mean business not to do it again. Then she carefully, moves towards me when she sees I am no longer angry.

Hi there! It's not crazy! We don't just talk to our dogs, we even address them as our brothers and sisters. :-) My mom would call them on their names addressing herself as "mom". When gather in the living room all them are sitting at the center or my very own pet dog would sit on my lap. My dog's name is "ping". He was my boyfriend. Isn't it crazier than you think you are? They seem to be so adorable that sometimes we feel that they know exactly how we feel about them. They recognize it when we're angry or when we're happy about them. They will always be man's "best friend." :-)

I grew up with dogs. We don't have one now, but whenever we did, my family talked to them. Not exactly like talking to a person, but still talking to them. I think the way my family and I talked is probably closer to how you might talk to a baby. And I do believe they understand the feelings of the people in the family.

I think all animals know what we are saying I figure if they know their name when we call them then they know what we are saying and I think it is perfectly normal to talk to them! We have 3 cats and I always talk to all of them!!

I talk to my dogs all the time. Most times I think they understand me. My one dog goes to bed before me and takes my spot on my bed. When I go upstairs I say move over and she does. It is amazing. But then again they have selective hearing too - but don't we all. lol.

I believe that the tone of our voices are the ones that dogs understands. The tone of our voices if we are taking to them in a stern voice or gentle voice :)

dogs communicate, not in our language but yes they would somehow understand what you mean especially when you always talk to them. i do talk to our dogs, we have 4. even my dad talks to them. we treat them as part of the family. it actually helps when you talk to them because they respond to you after sometime. they might not get it the first time but if you keep on telling them what to do they get to absorb and understand it.
