Do you enjoy going to work?

I believe the hardest part about working (at least for me) is just going to work. When I know I have to work that day I feel anxious all day until it's time to go to work, almost like I wish I didn't have to. I don't know why. I like my job, I like the people I work with, I like what I do. I don't LOVE it, but I like it. I do LOVE bringing home a paycheck every week. So why do I find it so hard to look forward to going to work? Why is it so easy to look forward to days off? Is it just because I've been a stay at home mom for so long that the transition to working part time is difficult on me? Is it everything I need to accomplish before going to work? Maybe it's a combination of all of these things? Do you like your job? Do you get anxious before you have to go to work?

I don't get anxious too much anymore. But there are days when I know that I'll be facing a lot of work problems when I get there. Those days I dread coming in. I usually come in on the early part of our flexi-time in the morning, but not when I'm dreading it. I'd come in a bit late, and sometimes even leave early when no one is looking.

I don't have that option, unless I no longer want a job! I'm not looking forward to work tonight.. I'm working with someone I don't exactly like.

Right now my job is mostly on-line writing, and promoting the books that y husband and I have written over the years. I'm also studying, and trying to start a business. Right now going to work means opening up my computer, and going at it, from where ever I happen to be. So yes, I do enjoy going to work.

I like my job but I hate the company I work for. I'm off until the 3rd and just before I have to go back I wish I didn't but when I'm working it's fine. I like my coworkers for the most part and my job isn't hard I just wished I worked for a better company and made more money.

Everybody wishes they could make more money! I think even if I did make more money I still would feel anxious about going to work. I wish I could just be excited about going to work.

I don't love it, I like it, but I'd quit in 10 seconds if I could afford to. I'd much rather be doing whatever I want to do, be it total laziness, traveling, work around the house, charity work, whatever. In the morning I'd much rather stay in bed, and in the afternoon I'm quite happy to be out of here.

If this wasn't the most beautiful post I've seen so far. *sniff* I think I'm going to cry... That really hit the nail on the head, dawnald. I would absolutely be ecstatic to be able to lounge around and do whatever I please at my convenience.

hello, although I do not go to work like most people do,because I own a small company and people work for me, I still consider what i'm doing as simply work LOL, yeah there are times when I really hate to work and don't feel like doing it, even have times when I hate to face a new day or had too much to drink the night before, anyway this is what I do, I start the day with a little prayer, thanking God that I have work or income when so many people lost jobs, I think of school tuition fees or electric bill that I have to pay and that springs me back to action. Yes I get tired because I had been working since I was seventeen ( for my dad) and I understand what it is you are feeling, I think we just have to add a little spice to what we do, that's why I'm trying my luck on online earning even if I'm not so good at it or think that I make enough with the time I devout, guess we have no choice but to love what provides for us

It's good to count our blessings and remember why we're working in the first place. I'm sure that is helpful, and it's what I'm trying to do as well.

Exactly my feelings every morning!!! I work full week 8hrs a day and by the general standard of office work, I have it quite easy. My boss is good enough (though I doubt if there is ever a ‘good’ boss anywhere), the pay is good enough, I’ve been in this organization for 13 years and most people are like family YET, I just hate having to go to office every single day. Maybe it’s the fixed hours that I have to sit at my desk, maybe I feel lazy, maybe I desire spending more time with my family (but the paycheck is equally important)… maybe I suffer from the ‘grass is greener…..’ syndrome LOL Whatever be it, ideally I would have loved to be at home for my son when he comes from school, be at my patient best when hubby comes home in the evening, have enough free time to indulge myself… I just hate this running around the whole day till bed time. The weekends just feel so wonderful to have the entire day to myself.

I'm sorry you feel that way. I only have to work a few days a week, so I still get time for myself, but I also have school work on top of that.. I just have to keep remembering my goals and why I'm doing all this!

I am happy with my pay. It's only minimum wage but it's good enough for me right now. I could use more than that but at this time right now a job is a job.. and any pay is sufficient.

Well I'm not currently working right now but when I tried to go back to work last year I felt like that. I didn't mind my job but I had a hard time going to work. Some of it was leaving my son. I've been a stay at home mom his whole life. I have been away from him but usually leaving him with my parents or my husbands for a night off, but never to go to work and leave him with a family friend. I think to it was just a change in my routine that was hard to get used to. I have been a stay at home mom for like 5 years, so to all the sudden have to get up and be somewhere in the morning a couple of days a week, it was an adjustment. I think to it's the feeling of being watched to make sure I'm doing a good job.

I felt this way the last time I worked too.. I felt like working was just too stressful. I have to fight through this feeling because I do not want to quit my job!

I also like my job..love the pay..but somedays just wish I could stay home. I have been at the same job for 25 years...it never really gets old as there are new things to do everyday...but I also look forward to my days off to do my own thing here at home....I know how you feel...I think the only way I would be really happy is if I could just work for myself!

I have 2 jobs right now and I really do not like either of them. I especially don't love it. I like some of the people I work with, so that helps get me in there every day. I am usually fine once I am there, but like you I do not look forward to it.

There are a couple people I do not enjoy working with, but thankfully I do not have to see them often. Unfortunately I am working with one of them on Friday and I am not looking forward to it. She's an 18 year old queen bee.. thinks she runs the place. I've had nightmares about working with her again. LOL

I work for myself, but it's equally hard to get up and going some days. I guess that you have a lot on your plate with small children, and knowing you have to go out to work later is just an extra pressure to add. How about trying to shift your thinking to regarding it as a social occasion?

That is part of what I'm trying to do.. as well as reminding myself of all my goals and what I want to do with the money.. basically reminding myself why I want the job so much. I know I certainly don't want to quit.. I just hate feeling like I'm not excited to go to work. Maybe I'm just in a rut or something. It's really weird!

Today i was glad to be going to work but since they only have me working three days i was mad to see what i came to work and saw my desk a mess. If someone is going to use my desk dont throw away my paperwork i needed and dont put your stuff on my desk. Dont use my scrap paper and go get your own. As you see i am not in a good mood today because of work. I cant wait to get out of here today and get home to see my family. I usually dont mind the people i work with except for today when i cant get work done because what i started on is now off my desk and i cant work on it without the paperwork i started, not my fault so they will be the one suffering not me.

I have been out of work now for a little over two years now, I am a victim of the economic state of the country. Oh well, but when I was working I use to feel the same way, I liked what I did, I liked the people I worked with and still felt that anxiety. I think I know what is is, it's the simple fact that you spend more time at work then at home and most of us miss having a normal home life. I am currently in the process of getting disability because I have a rare eye condition and some other ailments. It's unfortunate. My eyes are good for some time then they start acting up. I do get a chance to do these sites but only for a while, then I have to rest my eyes. Life is hard but we have to keep going.

Sorry to hear that. I actually only work part time.. about 15 hours a week. I think my problem is just anxiety about what I deal with in order to work. I have to fix dinner for the kids before I leave, worry if I'll have a sitter or not, worry if the kids will behave for the sitter.. things like that.

Lately I dread going to work, and am actually trying to find something else. Since I work like 35-40 mins. from home when the traffic is good, I am looking for something closer and preferably Monday-Friday days if at all possible. Also trying to not have to take too much of a pay cut, and they have to offer some type of good medical as well due to all my Health issues. For me anymore I think my job situation is not helping in the way I feel at all.

When I was able to work I was fine about going to work, I did love my Job, I was in this particular Job 8 years as the Children where older I was able to work full time But when I used to do a Part time Job when they where smaller I used to do 2 hours in the morning which was not to bad but then back at Night and that I did find hard I guess once you are home you just want to stay there but knowing you have to go back later was depressing

I think your issues are a combination of all those things that you mentioned. You have not been back at work long enough yet for it to be routine. I also know this job is not a career for you. I have enjoyed being off work for more than a year, off and on, but I believe I am getting to a point where I need to find a new, permanent job. I am getting the same anxiety you are describing.

Good luck, I hope you're able to find something soon. I remember feeling like that.. which is why it's so weird I feel like this now. It wasn't that long ago I was so desperately wanting a job!

i think its a combination of all those things. i dont know why i always felt like that to. even though on days off, i looked forward to going back to work, yet the morning of work, i dreaded it even though i to loved my job and the people i worked for. i remember thinking it would be nice to retire and just do things at home again. yet i still miss working. now that i cant.

When I wasn't working I did wish that I could work. I've always looked forward to being able to work again and get a bit of my 'life-before-kids' back. I just wish I could be more excited about it!

I never did love my job but it was still interested in going to work in the mornings. My job relocated 45mins away so now I hate driving and going to work. Also, there is so much drama at work that in the morning I dread going to work. I do want to start looking for a job where I can enjoy what I do and be happy that I am going to work.

I don't call my work as a job. For me it is a ministry because in our office, we don't mind how many hours we spend doing our work as long as we can serve other people.
