Roses are red Violets are blue I'm not totally dumb How about you? Well, on Friday I was whining about the fact that my employer has finally gone and blocked my access to myLot. So I can't even get on here during lunch. Boo hoo. Ah well, I can still work it. the trick it this. I get all my notifications via e-mail. So if you reply to my discussion, I get an e-mail. If you're on my friends list and you post a discussion, or if you comment back to my reply (friend's list or not), I get an e-mail. So on those long, boring work calls, or during lunch, I can still read through the e-mails, and at least determine which ones I want to respond to. It's better than nothing, right?

It certainly is better than nothing, and will let you plan some responses or discussions. Yay Dawnald. Yay, e mail.

Evil Corporate America! Blocking Your Freedom Of Speech! Oh well you showed them! You can still get in. But wait.. when it goes to the discussion itself on mylot, can't you then surf mylot or does it block it somehow?

its what I do at my job, not because I'm blocked, but because I don't want to kick Maggiepie off mylot if I REALLY need to respond or start a discussion, I get on my phone...

that's why I said "REALLY" need - because it is too slow! I did when the plane flew into the building and where there was someone shooting down on campus, but that's about it...

i do not see any problem doing mylot during lunch time. it could be a problem if you cannot deliver effectively during work time because of mylot. it's better than nothing, dawnald, i agree.

You are right that you are at least able to do something during those times that you are bored. This is one of those times that I really think it is a shame that there isn't a mylot mobile application like there is on facebook. I recently enabled that application and that way I can respond to certain friends of mine when they post a status update no matter how far away I am from a computer. It isn't a lot, but there are times that it is better than nothing.

Sounds to me like you REALLY NEED A NEWER PHONE, WHICH WOULD BE A LOT FASTER.

It's way better than nothing. We have no internet where I work and let me tell you, I wish we did. Sunday nights are so slow and boring. My boss has internet but it's in his office and we have no access to it. Not fair!

Yes it is better than nothing, because I went for 15 months with nothing other than an hour a week at the library and that in my opinion is nothing... Now, since you mention being your friend, you know you might be flooded with friend requests right????

i also read and respond to my friends' discussion from email. i still have access to my office's internet and i do come to mylot from the office using the office's if i don't have my own connection. so how could you come to mylot and participate if you are blocked to access mylot?

I can read the e-mails, but I can't post until I get home. But since I do get e-mail notifications, I can at least delete the ones I don't want to reply to.

You whining? Sounds like another family member, not you! I get my notifications in my inbox on Yahoo. I have been getting those for several years now. THis is my base and I have all my important emails come to this email. I have another email for shopping, one for personal, one for paypal, etc. Works well for me. THen I go to Facebook for my breaks usually and go to the other sites I work on through out the day.

You could even take it a step further. Write down all your responses on an email (to yourself), and then just copy and paste it to each discussion when you do get the chance to come here. ...sugar is sweet, but solving a problem is sweeter!

Maybe your boss thinks that you skipped work from time to time and are doing something else instead of doing your office work. Or perhaps he has caught someone already :) What your boss didn't know is that you are smarter than he is :)

Well, we do not have internet access where I work, and right now my Email does not really come to my Phone like I wish it did, so this is not an option. I can actually upgrade my phone in October if I want, and would Love to have one I could somehow access myLot from and my discussions more for sure.

That is one way to sort of get around it. I get quite a few discussions in my inbox every day. I usually check my email before coming to myLot, so I kind of have an idea of what I will see when I get on here. Hopefully that will help with your myLot addiction.

I am lucky I can use the computers in the computer lab where I work. I can on my breaks like right now with is my lunch break. I also do alot on my second break later in the day. So I have no trouble with getting on Mylot or any other site. Sometimes I spend to much on the computer!LOL!

Yep and when you get home you can answer those that you choose to. I'm answering from my iPhone. It's really convenient for that. I answer from my email.
