Secret Santa's in Grand Rapids Michigan

I heard this on the radio coming back from the dentist today. That several kind souls out there are paying off K-mart lay-a-way's for people. http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2011/12/christmas_spirit_abounds_stran.html How thoughtful and quite a surprise for those who had lay-a-way accounts there.

I just love it when people perform random acts of kindness but especially at Christmas. This is really wonderful. I learnt this morning that my DIL who works in the Middle East is coming in next Friday and will be with us for Christmas. This has made me so happy so at lunchtime I bought stocking fillers for the twins. I love her so much and am also glad that she will be here for our general elections which are going to be held on December 29th. My son needs her right now and they will be travelling two days to reach here and two days to return and stay only a short while - maybe a week - but she will be here to either rejoice with him if he wins or comfort him if he loses. whatever way - we will be together even if it is a frugal Christmas

I hope they have a safe trip to visit you. You will be having an excellent holiday, no need for materialistic things, just enjoy your time with everyone!

Thank you. Talking to them on skype is wonderful but it is better for me to give them a hug and a cuddle! We will be together and this is what is important and the children will have a lot of fun. I am so happy that my DIL will be there alongside myson. I have filled in but he needs her not his mother.

I wish that was done more often and the spirit of Christmas held on all year around. Thank you for sharing those wonderful news. I often wonder why only bad news get into newspapers and this is not shown. Take care!

I agree people should do these deeds all year long not just during the holidays or for the sole purpose of getting a tax write off.

It doesn't happen too often, or atleast reach the news.

That's wonderful! If we could do things like this year round we wouldn't need so many gov't programs to help the poor.

That the trouble with alot of charity giving that it's mainly done at the end of the year between the holiday and hopes for a last minute tax deduction. But people need things like food, shelter, clothing ect all year long.

Wow, that's really nice! Twice now I have seen different friends on Facebook say that someone in a drive thru ahead of them paid for their order, but that's as close to such a story as I have heard.

I think I've seen that in commercials but never in real life.

The good people that will do things like this for strangers are really the people that are showing the spirit of Christmas. For me, I had my own little not-so secret Santa visit me this week. You see, I'm a scrapbooker and I'm on several creative teams for designers and while I was talking to one of my designers on facebook the other day, she sent me thirty dollars to my paypal account so that I could get a little something for my children for Christmas because she knew about my situation this year.

That was indeed very thoughtful of the person. I hope you can get your family a lil something or atleast a holiday meal.

I love it when people report good news. There are still a lot of great people out there.

Sadly the news does not report the good that is being done in a community vs the bad. Just as a lady who had some sort of leadership group in Milwaukee was profiled tonight, probably only because she was fighting cancer and she had finally passed on. They should of told of her mission long before she was terminal, not as it was her wish to continue the work without her.
