Here on mylot I never think about the color of mylot friends. Of course I am from the West Coast of the USA and most of us live with people of all colors and don't think much about it. But I think mylot gives us all a wonderful chance to get to know all differnt races and colors of people, in fact it's one of the best things going on here.

Hi savypat, for you to ask that question, you must have had some type of thought in mind , being it good or bad... But its as real as it is, in 2012, that we as a people still have to be confronted with that question...I am sure it will always be a subject with some and thats life, but it dosen't make it easy to accept.. I don't know how more deversity a place can be than in New York, one of the largest melting pots in the world...I know its going to sound strange but I wonder when will the day arrive when people will treat people like people,,,we all bleed the same color...

hi bjc I assumed savypat is thinking about some moronic people that pigeon hole everyone and think only white people are okay and all the other colors are not okay. sadly there are a few morons who feel that way. darn

There was a time in my life that I lived fairly isolated and didn't actually even realize that there were people of different colors and then I started school and there were a lot of students that I went to school with that were African American and that was confusing to me. But, for the most part all that I knew was black and white as a child. My daughter is in third grade now and at her school, there is pretty much an even mix of students that are white, black and also Hispanic. It just goes to show that the world really has become a much smaller place than it was when I was a child.

Color, whats color? LOL. I never saw color when it came to people. I grew up here in New York City. And this is the melting post for all races. So to me there is no color. Everyone looks the same to me. I see it as good people and bad people. MyLot is an awesome place to be and all of the friends I have here are all equal to me.

I am a white, American, male from Rhode Island. My nationality is German, French, Dutch and the list keeps going on from there. Those are my main ones though. If you don't know what Rhode Island is by the way, its ok haha it is a pretty small state.

Unless someone makes their color a point, I do not think about it. I do think about and enjoy the cultural diversity of the site. Color comes as secondary to me. I think of all the people here in very warm colors.

oh for a time while opening the link to your topic, i thought you are talking about the true colors of people, how they are, and how we should or how we are able to get to know them. But you are right... when i am here in mylot, i never really thought about the color of mylot people.. sometimes i assume most of them are just like how my neighbors looked. =)

Hi pat~ That truly is one of the most wonderful things about mylot. I have learned so many interesting things from meeting people here. I have made friends with people from so many different parts of the world and learned about their cultures, foods, and the interesting parts of their day to day lives. I live in NY, which is definitely a "melting pot" of color and races of people, but on mylot I get to learn even more about cultures in different forms and sometimes with a more personal viewpoint.

I really don't think that a race of a person should matter when it comes to making friends, not only virtually but in all ways. It is just inevitable though that with race comes a different culture, or even a different belief, values, language and orientation and that could be the reason why disagreements arise, but then it should not be a reason for us to discriminate and generalize. In this modern world, discrimination is still everywhere, sad to say.

I don´t care one way or another about the color of my friends. In my country we don´t have so many people from all races but more have come thatn when I was a child as traveling has been made easier. Our way of eating is different because of that and I love what other people have brought

Ditto! With all the bantering, arguing, debating and pulling legs, it is like a family here. And in a family, who cares who is what? Particularly if we all are having fun as I am.

Hai savypat, I strongly agree with you. So this is why i joined mylot. Apart from trying to add a bit of income there, at least we can get to know each other and to increase our knowledge thru existing mylots.

Hi savypat, You are right there and I never thing of my friends by color either. It is rare here to see anyone who isn't white, but it is gradually changing. I'm happy for that because we need to learn about other races and cultures. Blessings.

hi savypat I agree this is the greatest of great things about mylot our ability to reach out and talk via key board to our friends from all over the world. I am also from the west coast, California and I have friends there from many countries.I have never noticed the colors of their skins nor do I think about that here on my lot.We are just human being reaching out to one other and sharing and caring for each other.,Why would I even care what color of skin anyone has. That's nothing to do with why most of us enjoy and and have fun with our friends from all over the world. We are here to learn from each other,to help if we can and to share with others.I could care less if someones color is pea green, prune purple or ivory white . Its the person whom I am interested in, not the skin of anyone. jj

I'm on the West Coast too - in Southern CA - it's very multicultural here! In a positive way, I actually do think of the colors and differences we have . . . I think it's neat that there are a bunch of us from all over the world coming together in this one spot! We're here on myLot because of what we think "inside" - not what we look like on the outside. I can have green skin or purple hair and believe in flying unicorns - and no one will judge me for that - ha ha!!
