Inappropriately Dressed

I spent an uncomfortable half hour chatting with the teacher yesterday with my jeans undone under a long T-shirt. I was scared they would start to slip, and was surreptitiously hoiking them up every once in a while. I was late leaving the house, and they were the only clean jeans I could find! But at least I could find a longer than average t-shirt to pair them with and preserve my dignity! Goodness knows where those jeans came from, as there's no way they would have fitted me since I was at school. Have you ever left the house inappropriately dressed? Why was that? Did anyone notice?

Frequently! I've gone shopping in my pajamas, I once delivered something to the school in my pajamas. Last week I was wearing pants that were a little too tight, and I also undid the button, then my son wanted to go shopping so I just went with my pants undone. I tucked the button in so it wouldn't stick out, and nobody noticed, as far as I know.

So long as you're not wearing a midriff skimming top, I can't imagine anyone would notice. I've done the school run in my PJs before too, but only when I knew I didn't have to get out of the car.

I remember those days. Baby sick in the hair and bags under the eyes. Nice!

I actually walked to the school in my pj's and went in to drop off the paper. I forget why.. must have been when one of my little ones was young because I know I had a stroller. Having a baby is always a good excuse to look awful, people are very understanding, LOL.

I spend a fair bit of time hoiking up my trousers - I'm talking the old stuff that could be too big now that I've lost some weight or could be wearing out and stretched. I try very hard to be ok when I have to go somewhere. However, a few months ago I was going to walk to the post office. I knew the capri pants were loose but I thought if I rolled the top over a couple of times they should stay put. By he time I got to the front gate, I went to give them a tug and discovered they had surreptitiously slipped right down to almost the bottom of my knickers. That was embarrassing but there was no-one about, luckily.

It sure gave me a laugh at myself even though I was feeling embarrassed. Luckily, there was no-one around.

That would have given the postman a laugh if he'd been doing his rounds! Just as well you noticed when you did or you may have lost them completely .... :-)

I have often worn odd socks. Once I wore the jacket from one suit and the trousers from another! I have also worn one brown and one black shoe! Thank heavens I no longer have to wear that rigmarole for work!

That I haven't done but if it were an emergency I would run out in my underwear. I wouldn't worry if I were you. You had the shirt to cover up your waist. Thats cool. I once had to wear a pair of pants that did not for me right, what I did was put my belt on and covered it up with a long T. I was able to zip them but not button them.

It works just fine, and so long as you don't have to lift the Tshirt up for some reason noone need ever know.

Thats correct. But these days I mainly wear sweat pants and t-shirts. And the sweat pants are nice and comfortable.

I think the teacher can't have taken notice of what you wore at that point. It was only your imagination that you were afraid your dress would be a loss of face. But then,You are so busy, far be it from you to make an effort to look well-dressed on ordinary days.

I think you are right, the teacher is unlikely to have noticed. It was just me being self aware.

Teachers used to make a visit to the parents of school-children,however now they make an appointment to meet parents in the school.

I am sure everyone out there can relate with this one and have been known to do it a time or two. I know I have done it before and usually do not even notice it until I am away from home. Like wearing unmatching shoes or my clothes inside out etc.

I went to get my hair cut the other day. I put on some brand new shorts and didn't realize that the zipper had seperated....not until I got home and was going to go to the bathroom....I wonder if anyone else noticed?

Probably, but far too polite to say so! Maybe just as well they didn't, as you'd have then spent the whole day worrying about how to keep them done up (unless you keep a spare pair in your bag).

I have done that before, with jeans to be exact. I was in a hurry and had to just run out. Once it was while having to go to work, so I was constantly pulling my pants up. I had to ask for some tape, and while they looked at me funny, I knew it'd work.

Normally the zip on trousers is enough to hold them tight. I'm not sure I'd feel so confident if they didn't! Perhaps a safety pin ....

Not a major problem in my case :-( But perhaps a sweater slung around the shoulders would provide some disguise.

A few years ago, we went camping on a long weekend. We left our camp Sunday afternoon, and since we were running late, we went straight to an 8pm church service. There we were, wearing ragged clothes, shorts, slippers (and badly needing showers) amidst people who were in their Sunday-best. We sat at the corner way out back, as I would say we were 'inappropriately dressed'.

I'm sure god didn't mind in the slightest.

I would struggle more to find a day I was appropriately dressed lol! I am a .. quirky, dresser, to say the least lol. This story made me laugh though lol! Why were they undone? Too small? Broken? lol.

I think they would have fitted a slim 13 year old. Not me then. I was very impressed that I could get them up, and I could even do the button up if I breathed in VERY hard, but the zip was beyond me. Really, I have NO IDEA how they came to be in one of the numerous clothes heaps in my room. They can't belong to the kids as they are definitely female style. I'm not known for being particularly tidy, but I have excavated that heap more than once since I was 13. Honest!

Once I was too late to wake up and it was the day I need to go to my collage for some personal uses. MY friends was waiting me at my collage. So I had to hurry and I need to prepare myself and get there within thirty minutes. This made me to dress improperly and that was the first time was went out without dressing and without having my proper food. By seeing my way to collage many of them noticed me and my friends asked me about the dressing way. I was having was well disappointed at their questions.

Well, there was this one time when i had to go to this event. We were required to wear something in a dress. I was in a much hurry because i was already late, so i decided to take my motorcycle with me just to cut the travel time short. I was thinking twice at first of driving in a dress. But i just thought of wearing a black cycling shorts under it and expected that it would be okay. so, i tried settling myself on the motorcycle and fixed my dress making sure that it wont fly all over as I drive. And so there I was, driving the motorcycle with my dress on. My dress, by the way, was above the knee but not that really short, but it was "flowy". Then, at first it was okay, but later on, my dress slipped higher to my legs as the wind was blowing it slowly away and my thighs were slightly showing off. Then there, i noticed the other drivers and some people walking along at the sidewalk looking at me, specifically at my thighs, as i pass by. It started to make me feel really awkward and i got really conscious about it. It happened late in the afternoon and it was not yet that dark, so it was that obviously exposed. I decided to rush over to the place and get over it. Hahahha! It was really that awkward. You know, Filipinos are so sensitive and are very observant and talks about these unusual things they see and hear. So yeah... It was an awkward experience... HAHAHA!

Ive done that a few times lol. One time I had to pin the two sides of my pants together because the zipper was broke. Sometimes you just get in too big a hurry and throw on anything.
