yeah I should have been offline now, steven went all the way down to new place to wait for the cable and internet guy and guess what when he came he said he had to have an appointment with the Janitor to let him into a special room or something, It would have been nice if somebody had told us that. Now we have to wait until Tuesday.

Oh my gosh! It is always something. We are living on a hope and a prayer here with our cable. The lines inside are very old and the cable company won't replace them. The housing people have to and they won't. So if something happens to those lines we will just not have any cable. Fun, huh?

that is awful, we shouldn't have to live this way with other people having so much power over our lives.

It is really frustrating when you learn something like that after the fact. I am sorry Steven had to go there and just wait. Hopefully you can get it all worked out on Tuesday.

I worked in a nursing home as social services and we would have to have maintenance do something similar whenever we had cable come out. When it was up to me to make sure things were communicated I was a bit compulsive. Many people thought I over did it, but I would rather be told twice about something than not told at all.

That is beyond ridiculous. That kind of stuff is completely annoying. I could go on, but it's still too early to get all worked up, and I am in gratitude mode for having the electrity finally restored last night.

good for you, it is a real bummer with no electricity that was the problem we were having in the old house. The landlord wouldn't fix the electricity so we left.

Amazing how people want to collect rent, but don't feel the need to keep their property in rentable condition.

Recently my office's internet was having problem too. My IT guy called the internet provider and they said they will do it within 48 hours ie. 2 days. It was on Thursday, so Friday considered 24 hours, Saturday and Sunday is public holiday/weekend. Therefore they should fixed it on Monday but no news from them. My IT guy called again and the officer read out his complaint report and tell him the same thing again. Tuesday he called again to remind them, by the end of Tuesday, the internet is ON back. Hmmm.. it is good thing that our IT guy keep calling them to follow up. In actual fact all they need to do is to replace the modem which they can just arrange for their delivery guy to do so the next day (Friday). Life is like that!

Argh! Sorry you guys have to deal with this!! Boooo that you weren't told this beforehand. That's a bummer, but guess what - this means you have all weekend to concentrate on getting things done and living without being tied to the screen or computer!! Tuesday isn't so far away - I know you'll make it!

I am not worried about that, we will live, it is the principal of not being told something that was important that bugs me.

Yeah all cable/internet companies are terrible. I have comcast and they spelt my name wrong so my mail man didnt deliver a bill last month and i wound up paying it late. And when i tried paying over the automated phone thing it couldnt bring up my account. So i had to have a person do it which costs freaking 6$, but they said they would waive the fee. Low and behold i got muly bill this month and theres a $6 charge. I swear cable companies are the most unorganized and biggest scamming companies there are.

oh I can live without it for a few days, and it is not the fault of the cable company if they cannot get into the building so they will not give a rebate.

hi winterose yes indeed thats the pits that they did not notify you that the janitor had to let him in and all that. the few times when I had to have the cable g uy come the best they could tell me was between 8 and noon , that gets old as maybe there was something else i needed to do so why not just give me a time for goodness sakes.so hope it all gets connected and will work super well for you all.best wishes and hugs.

That is an annoying setback. The complex you're moving into should have let you know that you would most likely need a janitor to open a door so that the cable man could get in and hook up your cable and internet. Oh well, Tuesday will come soon enough, and hopefully it won't be the cable man not showing up this time!

Well, waiting is no problem as long as they can install. congratulations you get to have new cable and internet. We haven't had an antenna for a long while now but i figured it doesn't work well that much.as long as the internet is on schedule then you will have no problem about it. Have a nice day

We moved last weekend (Labor Day weekend) and we had problems at first also. The gas company did not show up until 6PM and the power was supposed to be on at 8:30AM and it was not turned on until 2:30PM. Since the power was not turned on we could not have our DirectTV set up or the Internet. The DirectTv guy came back on Saturday and hooked up our service. The issues with the Internet was that the cable was stolen and the guy was supposed to call and have someone run the chord. This was not done. On Wednesday the cable company sent out another guy to set up our Internet and he could not because the cable was not outside and the first guy never called. The second guy put in a call and told his supervisor to please send someone out immediately to get the cable outside so he could set up the Internet. The guy did not leave until we were hooked up. We finally got out Internet on Wednesday.

Sometimes , I feel like there is no choice but to know everything about fixing things. If we go to the garage , I will have to keep an eye on what the mechanic does , we need to assess how much time it will take him to do what he needs to do. If you called the cable the company to fix the internet connection , that's a bummer. It is hard to tell what the technician will need to do to install the internet connection. If you could know what it requires , you could ask the janitor to open that room for the technician to install your internet cable. Did you just move to a new apartment ?

yes I just moved, but we cannot that, the cable guy must do it and he had to get into the room that is locked and only the janitor has the key to do it.

That's a pain in the posterior. I ran into that at our last address. We had a problem with the phone and the basement door where all the wires were was padlocked. That turned into such a circus. We rescheduled after we managed to get the key sent from the landlord. It turned out to be the wrong key. One of the other tenants finally said screw it and went and kicked the door in. Hope you get this fixed up right on Tuesday.
