I saw this on tv today and thought it sounded just awful - making Grilled Cheese Sandwiches with chocolate chip cookies! Doesn't that just sound awful? The thought of cheese melted in between two chocolate chip cookies is just disgusting to me. Let alone the fact that it sounds so greasy! Does this in any way or form sound good to you? I just can't imagine. Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

It does sound gross, like something a child would invent or someone who is a few sandwiches short of as picnic. I had a friend who thought cheese and peanut butter was good. He was hopeless. Every now and then, I made franks and beans and as usual I put in a pinch of cayenne to give it a kick. He decided to cook dinner for me one night when I was a bit off colour...franks and beans and a good shovel full of cayenne...effin idiot! One taste and I said I was too sick to eat "but it's delicious". He had to eat his and pretend he was OK with it. He was so red in the face.

BTW...Grilled Cheese Sandwiches Made With Chocolate Chip Cookies are NOT a Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. Maybe a bit of cayenne would improve things...Yes???

I am with you...that doesn't sound good to me at all...but maybe we would be surprised if we did try it. Some combo's sound yucky but turn out to be a good combo. I could never see eating apple pie with cheese either but lots of people like it.

I know about the apple pie thing and I would never consider ruining a piece of pie that way. As far as those fair foods are concerned, I never had any intention of trying them either. However, one year at a concert my husband bought an order of deep fried Oreos and made me try one. It was absolutely surprisingly delicious! It really didn't taste or look much like an Oreo any more, but was more of a melted chocolately cake type filling in a tempura type crust, and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was great tasting but I'm sure it must have had about 1000 calories in it! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

Could be. I think cheese on apple pie is gross, but it is popular! And a deep fried twinkie? Hugely popular..but not something I want to try! Or deep fried OReos is the thing this summer at fairs. Just to much! But, no I have no urge to try grilled cheese choco cookies! Just seems to me to ruin a great cookie! They deep fry SNickers bars too!

That doesn't sound very good at all but I've said things sounded bad before, like deep fried oreo's and mashed potatoes with ketchup on them! I'm not so sure I would have an easy time trying grilled cheese with chocolate chip cookies but I guess I would try them if I had the opportunity. To each his own, I guess! Maybe this is a way to get kids to eat cheese?

Eww...that does sounds gross. I wouldn't want to try it. I was a little amazed at this music festival where they had fried pickles. Yes..fried pickles. I must have crinkled my nose when the woman in front of me got her order because she turned around and said here..you haven't lived until you try one. I was hesitant, but I took it. It was really good! Wow. I didn't order any but I guessed I had at least "lived" as she had said

Well that was really nice of her to offer it to you. I hate pickles so I don't think I would like them deep fried unless they don't taste like a pickle anymore. Well, that's one more thing you can cross off you list at least! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. Seriously, there are times that chocolate and cheese does go together well, but in something like this, I don't think that it would go together well at all. The reason that I don't think that it would be something that would go together well at all is because of the fact that it would be too greasy and it would also be something that would be very hard to eat. What's the next step with this one? Are we going to throw some batter on it and deep fry it?

hi i think the recipe you saw is some kind of a joke. I don't think there is a one who will try this recipe at home. Grilling a sandwich with cheese is not highly recommended since the sandwich alone can be eaten without grilling.

No, trust me it wasn't a joke - they were serious about it. I like regular grilled cheese sandwiches on white bread but not on a cookie! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

Honestly where I live I see shows all the time with more disgusting ideas then that. Also there seems to be a current trend where people on TV are making giant food and being proud they can finish it. It seems like every man I know loves these shows for some reason. I personally don't get it.

I could see this possibly tasting good if you used a non-smoked sweeter white cheese. Think about fondue. Gruyere is used for that and you dip all kinds of sweets - brownies, cookies, ect - into that. A traditional grilled cheese made with cheddar would be pretty gross lol

I've never heard of using Gruyere to dip brownies or cookies into. Whenever I make fondue or go to The Melting Pot the cheese is for bread or apples and carrots. The dessert fondue for the bread, cookies, and cake is a chocolate based fondue. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

i have to agree that this sounds pretty nasty. while i love grilled cheese sandwiches as well as chocolate chip cookies, just the thought of them together makes me shiver! i like stuff like chocolate covered pretzels, where you get a little salty and a little sweet mixed together but i cannot imagine sweet and cheesy! they seem to be coming up with some odd mixtures these days (like olive oil ice cream?!)

I love chocolate covered pretzels too! I've never heard of olive oil ice cream. That sounds just awful if you ask me. I sometimes wonder what people are thinking when they come up with these gross combinations. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

It sounds pretty gross, but I think I would try it anyway. People thought bacon and chocolate was disgusting at first and all sorts of people are eating it now. Just another salty sweet combination. I am still wanting to make chocolate chip bacon cookies. I might try this at the same time.

I don't think I could try the chocolate and cheese combination however I have tried and love chocolate covered pretzels! But with the pretzels they are just salty and then with the sweetness of the chocolate. The thing about the cheese is that it's savory and greasy so it just sounds like it would make my stomach upset. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

I agree with Sedel, it is possible that this could work with the right sort of cheese. I am actually tempted to test this out--find what the right combination is. You wouldn't want for the chocolate in the cookie to be too sweet, nor the dough to have to much sweetness... I have used raisin bread for grilled cheese, and that has turned out well. There is no reason you can't have a sweet sort of bread for a grilled cheese sandwich, and that could easily extend beyond to using cookies.

I don't know, maybe. But the recipe I saw called for cheddar cheese and chocolate chip cookies - the sweet kind. Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

Yuck! Definitely not. Horrible! (well, in my country, back in my mom's youth, there was a "dessert" called in English "Tale Cheese" on the market, which was a chocolate coated cheese... my mom hated it, and I understand why... surprise, surprise, it's not sold anymore...)

Right? Like I said, I would rather eat the grilled cheese sandwich on regular bread and then have the cookies for dessert! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

That sound disgusting. They're a lot of shows now on the food network that show unhealthy and to me disgusting foods. Probably the worst thing I've ever seen is a deep fried sandwich or burger with doughnuts for buns and all kinds of weird and unhealthy toppings. That doesn't even sound good let alone its the path to triple bypass surgery. People must not wish for a long life these days.

Oh, I've seen those before too! They take a glazed doughnut, like a Krispy Kreme doughnut, and then make a big cheeseburger on it with all the fixings. That is just nasty, messy, and bad for you! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

Hello schulzie. I do like grilled cheese on different kinds of bread and with some different kids of meats in them but I do draw the line with a chocolate chip grilled cheese sandwiches. I have watched a cooking show called the cupcake wars that uses a variety of ingredients that don't sound good to me. People have some strange tastes and who can account for them.

I don't think I would ever want to try that. I don't think I could even keep that in my stomach for long at all, even if I did try that combination.

Gross I don't even think that I would want to smell that cooking. Reminds me of when I was younger and was a waitress and this guy came in and asked for a piece of apple pie with a piece of cheese melted on the top of it. I was like ewwww that's so gross but I guess its common in other parts of the US but I would not do it. Now I will add ham to my grilled cheese but there is no way I will make one out of chocolate chip cookies I would have to be starving to eat it, and had no good food for a month or more even if I was starving.

I'm there with you on that one! I've heard of people having a slice of melted cheddar or American cheese on their apple pie but I don't know where that started either. I would just rateher have a regular grilled cheese sandwich followed up by 2 chocolate chip cookies! Thanks for your comment and have a great day!!!

I agree with you and I think that that does sound gross. I would not be trying that at all. It sounds like something maybe a pregnant woman would want to eat. Just mixing that taste of cheese with something chocolatey and sweet ew.
