does this virus realize I'm a Mom?

I worked earlier this week. Then WAAAMMMM! On Wed I dropped the girls off and I got the chills and it stayed for 2hrs. I could not get warm to save my soul for 2hrs. Took my temp and realized I had a fever. I finally got my lil guy to take a snooze w/ me on Wed then the renters whatever was back firing and then someone rang the phone w/ 2 whole rings. Felt decent by dinner and was able to take the oldest to her GS party, but I sat in the parking lot because I didn't want to be driving alot. Yesterday, the kids got a snow day. We got 2in of rain that later turned to snow and they were worried that the roads would get icy. So I have a fever/chills/light head that come and go with 3 kids being too loud and fighting when they weren't playing. Then we lost power last night for 2hrs... mind you it's 30F outside. I attempted to go to WM but got scared with the roads and no lights to control traffic on a road that 69k use daily I turned around went home. Oldest had a melt down over me not going to the store where there was light and heat. Though I was sweating in my coat at the time. I ended up having a panic attack too so not only coughing to pieces (creating chest pain), coughing up junk, fever/chills, and being dizzy off and on to add that to my list of fun. Power went on around 8pm thankfully. Today my head is woozy and I now have a fever yet again. I'm finally getting to sending out more Christmas cards and now I feel like bunk again. I hope this goes soon I'm getting a bit fed up... I can't keep up with anything and I was hopeful to do so. Please tell this virus to get lost!!!!

It's a horrible time to be sick, with the kids home, cold weather, power out, holidays looming... Hopefully, it won't last long for you. And I hope neither the kids nor the husband gets it.

Sounds miserable and I feel sorry for you. I got some kind of virus that laid me low for a full day and kept me feeling bad for awhile (still have it), but it waited until after Christmas. There's only me to worry about, too, and that makes a big difference.

That's just it. It's one thing to not feel well and not have any lil ones to look after and sleep all you want ect. It's another to have kids bickering all day and who are just starting to learn how to use a microwave / stove top (w/ supervision). Trust me I would of just rather of laid in bed all day and watched tv and fall asleep when I pleased but I couldn't.

The husband claimed he had it but never said he did. He didn't act any more out of the ordinary than he usually does so how would I know? The holidays stunk with not feeling the best all I wanted to do was curl up but couldn't w/ having to monitor 3 kids.

it sucks when you are sick when you still have lots of responsibilities. i remember when my daughters were younger and got the chickenpox. i had never had it either and lucky me, i got them too! my hubby had to take a day off of work to look after us!

Nice of your hubby to stay home and baby you guys. He is out of vacation so there was no babying anyone... it's more like work because your bills are do and they don't care who feels good or not. Finally feeling pretty darn good. The virus sat in my head for a few extra days after the fever finally gave up.

Yes I know Mom's are not allowed to get sick. Sadly I wasn't 100% for Christmas either and being at relatives who jack their heat up wasn't helping my fever.

I hope you are better before Christmas. That is always a busy day for us moms. I hate it when I get sick. The responsibilities never end and it seems to just pile up. Take care of yourself.

Indeed everything is piling up and the kids instead of helping just add more and more to the pile. I was hoping to get into the Dr this morning or atleast talk to the nurse but that is another discussion.

I think this year none of the viruses are having any kind of mercy on the mothers. For me, it has been this cold that I've been dealing with for over two weeks. I had a fever with the early part of it and now it is finally mostly down to coughing, but I've been trying to deal with it. I'm pretty sure that my body is finally healing, but it still hasn't exactly been a fun couple of weeks to live through.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well either. I can't shake this low fever and it's driving me nuts it's between 99-100.3 not a bad fever but enough that my mind doesn't feel right and coughing up junk isn't much fun either. I was hoping to get into the Dr or atleast talk to a nurse for some further advice. This is not the time of year to be sick.

That's the thing about getting sick. These things don't care if you're a mom, a police officer, emergency personwll, or president of the united states. It'll get you either way.

Like Honor said, we don't get any time off unless we're actually hospitalized--and then we have to listen to everyone griping in our hospital rooms! Motherhood is the only vocation (an occupation chosen from the pure love of it) that gives no days off, no sick time, no monetary rewards and includes 24 hour days every day of the year! So that virus has a nerve going after you!! Back off, Virus--just don't jump on the husband or she'll be twice as busy!!

The hubby claimed he had it and wondered how I didn't know. Just like a man thinks one is psychic he lives in his bed when he's not at work so who'd know w/o him saying anything? I'm finally feeling better but still a bit tired.

Sad fact of life. Viruses don't care if you're a mom, a doctor, the President, or whatever. Hope it is good and gone by now!

Get lost virus, leave SnuggleBunnies alone! (is it gone yet?) That sounds mighty rotten, but the thing about viruses is that they're completely indiscriminate. If viruses only attacked non-moms with no jobs or responsibilities... well I'm sure the rest of us would be happier. And non-moms with no jobs or responsibilities probably would be too sick all the time to become moms, get jobs, and responsibilities. So eat well, drink hot soup and tea, get plenty of rest, and just wait it out. Maybe you can get one of your girls to play doctor for you?

Hi Snuggles! I sure wish that virus would leave you now. I hate feeling sick and the chills and sweating that goes along with it is some nasty stuff. I hope your babies don't get it too.

I hope not either. Hubby claimed he had it but of course doesn't tell anyone, I should guess that he's curled up for any more special reason than his normal exhaustion from his job?

Common diseases such as fever, cold and flu comes and go. They may attack just any time without particular reason. Of course, one of the reasons would be fatigue. If one is too tired and stressful, these diseases are likely to attack that person. Anyway, you should somehow get a good rest and drink a lot of water throughout the day. Some people claim that having a good sweat would also make you recover faster from cold. You can try that.
