What kind of cleaner are you?

Do you clean the majority of your home on a daily basis, weekly basis, or as needed basis? What chores do you do daily to keep your home clean? What chores do your children do to keep your home clean? I am more of a weekly cleaner, but also as as needed cleaner. I try to clean the whole house at least once a week, but sometimes it goes until it just has to be done. Every day I do dishes, laundry, and a bit of tidying, such as picking things up. My kids are in charge of sweeping, cleaning the dining room table, cleaning the cat litter, and emptying the trash, as well as picking up after themselves and keeping their room clean.

I work outside of the home and my husband is disabled and at home so he does most of the housework these days. I do try to chip in and do my fair share on Saturdays which is also when I get caught up on the laundry. We have a 17 year old at home but she's rarely home so her only responsibilities right now are to keep her bedroom and the hallway bathroom clean. She does a so so job. My grandson who lives next door is in charge of bringing the empty trash cans in from the street once a week and, for that, he gets paid $1.00...and expect $2.00. :-)

I clean when the President is planning a visit.. Other than that, it is hit and miss with me.. I do keep the health inspectors away and don't have any type of rodents or unsightly bugs of any kind, but you also can't eat off of my floors like people used to say about me.. It was just my husband and myself for awhile and everything was so easy to keep clean but now my son and his wife have moved in and now it is a totally different story.. I may have to start cleaning much more often and just when I was really enjoying the lazy leisurely way of life that we had thrown into our laps..

I am a bad mommy when it comes to that. My daughter does chores some times. I would rather her have time for homework and being a kid. So I essentially do all of the household chores. This will probably change this year. I am too tired! I work full time and have alot of volunteer positions.

I am no sort of cleaner at all I pick toys up off the floor so that I don't trip over them, but otherwise about all I do on a daily basis is wipe the table prior to eating and sweep the floor of dog hair each morning. Don't get me wrong, my house isn't dirty. But it is a mess. I'm very envious of those who manage to follow the Flylady routine or similar. It must feel nice to live in a sparkly place, but my will just isn't strong enough.

My children - My son, Antonio (Tony) on his 11th birthday and his adoring sister, Jasmine
I'm pretty much like you. I do a "good" cleaning once a week and the daily dishes, laundry and the general picking up after everyone. The bathroom is cleaned daily as well. My children have their own chores and it rotates between them everyday. Their chores are to rinse dishes, (I wash them) dust the living room, vacuum the living room, take out the trash, feed and give water to the dog and clear off the table after meals. Plus they are to pick up their rooms and make their beds everyday (which doesn't always happen).

this is embarrassing to admit but i am a as-needed cleaner. i don't usually clean my room unless it becomes unbearable. my family is in charge of cleaning the whole place so it's still not too bad. they usually try to clean my room as well but there are nooks and crannies that they can't get at. i do clean the cat litter religiously though. my cats will ensure that i do. ;p
