1. melissaruth1 (2949) | 5 months ago | My kids get a vitamin during the craziness of the holidays, and when they are first starting to get sick. My youngest took one for a while, because her eating habits were horrid. Know they only get them for the listed reasons. They like the gummy bear kind.

2. jenseyedea (293) | 5 months ago | I give my kids flinstone vitamins. I have also used the gummy vitamins in the past. There are times that they do not want to take them, so I try and change up the ones they use. This keeps them taking them.

3. Ciniful (1150) | 5 months ago | My oldest two kids take extra vitamins, but not multi. They get an extra 500mg of vitamin C daily. I can't remember the name of the pills, but they're just a basic kids version of vitamin C that we buy at the health shop. The reason why ALL of my 5 don't take them is that my younger 3 DO get balanced diets and don't require them. My older two do as well, BUT ... my 12 year old girl suffers frequent nosebleeds, and added vitamic C reduces them from one a week to maybe once a year. My 13 year old son has the worst immune system out of anyone I've ever met, and the added vitamin C stops him from getting every single cold and flu that's going around.

5. Sillychick (1851) | 5 months ago | My son's pediatrician told me that a multivitamin is not necessary unless he doesn't eat a well balanced diet. My son is a good eater, and enjoys lots of fruit, vegetables and dairy products. Unless he starts rejecting all vegetables, fruits or dairy, over an extended period of time- I'd say maybe a few weeks- I see no need to give him a vitamin. It is best to get nutrients from food whenever possible.

7. lilybug (9862) | 5 months ago | My kids take vitamins, but not every day. My son hates the chewable ones. I got him the gum ball ones, but he really does not like them either. He likes the gummy ones ok, so I guess I need to buy him some more of those. My daughter still takes the liquid ones. I sneak them into her juice because they taste pretty nasty.

8. FaerieAne2003 (419) | 5 months ago | I give my son the gummy version. He loves gummy bears, and hates the "chalky" vitamins, so it works well. I get the kind that are made by the original gummy-vitamin company, Gummy-Vites, I think. I compared labels, and theirs had the most "good stuff". They were also less expensive than Flintstone gummies, AND had more vitamins per bottle. Still nearly $6 a bottle, twice as much as the store-brand chalky ones, but well worth it. (He'll actually take them now instead of throwing a fit and spitting slobbery bits of chalky vitamin goo everywhere. Ew!) He's pretty good about eating well, though, so if we forget about his vitamins for a week or more, I don't worry about it. He's 3, and his favorite foods are squash casserole, green beans, and tomatoes (fresh red or fried green, loves both). He hates fast food, especially chicken nuggets. Yeah, I'm raising my kids better than the local soccer moms...

10. mtdewgurl74 (6065) | 5 months ago | We give my little sister Flinstones chewables and the Flintstones gummy's just depends on what my mom buys that month. Sometimes it is hard for them to eat the amount they need in daily values so it is best to try to give them the vitamin and you don't have to worry if they are getting enough of this and that a day.
