Well a lot of my syalks of sweet corn are starting to get their husks now. So in a month or less I'll be roasting and boiling some mighty fine tasting sweet corn. Do you have any corn growing in your yard? Do you buy any from roadside stands or farmers markets? Do you prefer the two color sweet corn or just regular sweet corn? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

When you say two color sweet corn I am picturing white and yellow corn but not sure if that is what you mean. To me it don't matter though because I love any type of sweet corn. I am not sure if I have mentioned before and if I have I am sorry for repeating myself but years ago when I went to visit my mother we would go and pick corn and she would make the best tasting creamed corn. She also would freeze up whole kernel corn and of course corn on the cob. She made a whole bunch of it up and when it was time to go home she bought us an ice chest and we took home a bunch of frozen corn, the whole kernel and creamed style. I sure do miss those times.

My Corn - There is husk forming finally
Well the photo once again did not show up. Here it is. And yes the 2 colored corn is white and yellow alternating kernels. Very tasty. I think this is what I grew but not positive. Hahahaha! Ion't like corn that much that I like it all year long. We will eat what we grow. Boiling it, roasting it and other ways as well. I won't be freezing but some ears for a little while later is all. I love fresh corn, but, no, I don't grow any. Most of my neighbors don't grow anything like that either. Maybe tomatoes, but nothing more. You made me remember that I need to visit the local farmer's market, though. Thanks! By the way... Sincd you do grow corn, would you have a recipe for pickled corn on the cob? I used to have a friend in Michigan who made it, and it was the BEST thing. I've never found anyone else who pickles corn, though.

i love sweet corn! the ones i get from the supermarket are from malaysia. there are organic ones as well but they cost twice as much. if you sold your's they'd go for the expensive price! there are these night markets in singapore called pasar malams where they sell a cup of corn for USD 1.20. It's yummy - they season it with butter and salt. when i say a cup, i mean the kernels are all removed from the head of corn so it's really easy to eat with a spoon! corn for dummies hehe heh.

I am sure it is a favorite of every singaporean as well. I too sometimes get cravings for these little kernels of yellow goodness! I remember when I was a boy, the serve corn by the whole cob! And at only a dollar each. Now they charge more, and serve less in those little cups.

I missed planting much of anything this year but next year I'll be bragging right along with you! In the meantime, I buy from a local farm and it's a little heaven on earth to taste their corn. Good corn like that needs no butter or salt, it's delicious just shucked and cooked!

I am not really bragging just sharing is all. If I were to brag the corn would be a lot bigger and almost ready to eat. Hahahaha! My neighbors garden is thriving a lot better than mine. But he got an earlier start indoors. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm really jealous as I forgot to plant any corn until it was too late in the season. Around here, people don't really grow corn for the cob. they grow it for the leaves, which they dry as wonter animal feed. It's a shame, as everywhere you see corn growing, but rarely can you by a cob.

We like ALL sweet corn, but the mixed is usually esp. good. We have been buying it at a roadside stand for about 2 weeks now. Hubby even blanched, cut off cob and got some put in the freezer one day while I was working. He is talking abut doing more of that tomorrow..will sure taste good this winter!

Nope. I unwrap a little of the husk then lather it in butter and spices placing the husk back on the corn. Then I toss it on the grill for about 20 minutes. Then I unwrap it again adding a little water inside the ear then wrap it in foil cooking it another 10 or 15 minutes. The kernels get roasted slightly brown from the grilling. Then the water adds mositure to the corn that burnt out as it roasted. I do this a lot. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I use a local farm shop to get mine and they have an amazing maze of corn that takes you about twenty minutes to get through which is great fun, all my children just love corn on the cob with lots of melted butter, yum. I bet you can't wait for yours to be ready. Ellie :D

Here in Minnesota we have a lot of those mazes as well. One farmer gets very artistic in his layout. His mazes have been featured on the Today Show as well. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I never settled for just one ear, it was usually three at least. I did love sweet corn so much. Now I have to buy itin the stores and it just doesnt taste 'the same, they sell mostly white sweetcorn here and I love the yellow so much better, its sweeter and better all around.

We have bought corn from stands as well as supermarkets. I have no doubts that at some time we have bought them straight off the back of someone's pickup truck. I prefer the regular sweet corn, though I am sure I would like the two color variety as well.

I love the sweet corn especially I buy it at my local grocery store for I sure don't have any where to grow it here where I live in a apartment complex wish I did though. Soon enough you'll be haveing some of that and lucky you are eat some for me will ya? lol. They say the best kind of corn is when you grow it your self like you do. Your good at all your gardening techniques it just amazes me so much keep up the good work.

I had mny first taste of sweet corn for the summer this week! Boy was it delicious! All that butter melting all over it. I don't grow a garden anymore. Don't have time for it. My corn came from a person selling it on the roadside. Have a good weekend!

I offended my aunt's second husband because I refused to eat any of his "wonderful" corn. I told him I was on vacation and I didn't want to get sick while on it. And one bite of his wonderful corn would make me really sick. He had the yellow and white ones, and yellow, but they were eating the yellow and white ones that night. Asked us how many ears we wanted.

I do not have corn in my garden and have not had corn this year yet. We do not have the night farmers market like we use to. The town decided to cancel it for a year to revamp it. How long does it take to revamp farmers market? The fruit stand I have been to has not had corn but I have gotten a few very good water melons.

I pick it up from a roadside stand. I have one just a couple of blocks from me where they sell it and it's picked fresh daily. I like the candy corn...it's so sweet and juicy!
