I have several baskets, and I seem to be juggling eggs back and forth between them.

O.K. I will bite.
Um normally that refers to a person putting all their bets in one place; rather like placing a bet at a casino.
It can refer to those who invest in one area.
It can mean a person depends on one person only an should that person fail them; they are out of luck.
AS to real eggs:
I've four this morning in my kitchen.

Hi zed_k4! haha..I do have a lot of eggs in my love basket, too much to carry around and give them away all the time but what makes it beautiful is that the eggs multiply as it is being given away. However, with the other basket that concerns financial matters, now that is another story. haha..Let us just say, I still have enough for us to survive and to help others in small ways. With the basket of negativity, I usually discard and throw them away. haha..But they usually find a way to come into the basket oftentimes. Yikes!
Take care always..God Bless!

I have more than my fair share. The only problem is they are all breaking. Life is tough right now, but it will get better.

We get eggs when we need , we dont store it at home always , the shop is near our doorstep it is available there always so why should we store it in our home , as my mom doesnt like to stores any non veg items at home , so we buy when we are about to cook the food .You dint mention how many you have in your basket

Well I'm not sure the fridge egg tray can be considered a basket, but if it can I have all my eggs in there - maybe I shouldn't, huh?
No, really I try not to put all my eggs in the same basket, but it doesn't always work. It's still the best solution because if the basket falls I'll loose all my eggs and that will be a pity:)

Not all of them, that is for sure. Many sayings are silly enough to disregard but this one I take seriously. Speaking of eggs, though, you are making me hungry and eggs are on of my favorite foods, whether metaphorically or in the tummy.
Actually the choice between feeding the brain or the tummy is probably always somewhere in the back of my consciousness because I was a "starving student" for so many years. Let's see buy books or eat? The books always won over. Now that I can afford both, I sometimes get confused. This makes me wonder if Emily dickinson ever wrote a poem about eggs.
The only poem that readily comes to mind about eggs at the moment is Robert Louis Stevenson's "Nest Eggs"--:
http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/nest-eggs/
But it is about birds that flew out of the next, no longer eggs any more. As the kids like to say, stuff happens.

They say it right zed_k4.Putting everything at stake for one greedy desire is not advisable. But sometimes the lure of a particular thing is so so much, that one starts yearning heart and soul for that and is ready to put all eggs in just that single baslet. As for me,at present I have divided my eggs in a few different baskets hoping thay will hatch properly and bring happiness and harmony in my life and my loved one's life.

You know what..? The first part you said makes really good sense. I have become a victim like that as well and when things don't turn out well, I despair.
I think a balancing act is much more useful in circumstances as such. Thanks for your input, dear.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, Hatley. Do not despair and hopefully your son will be able to get something to work with.
Maybe you can try to look for anything to sell and go to 2nd hand shops and sell it at a price to at least make some money...?
Or is there any constitution able to help your son get a job or something.
I hope you will be well soon enough. Do not give up.

I never buy eggs! I don't usually eat them, except when they are an ingredient in something I'm eating.
If eggs represent time spent on the interenet, then I don't put all my time and effort into one site/basket. I put my eggs/time into different online activities and then the eggs hatch into money when I get paid, and so I can collect payments from all my baskets/sites.
Does that make sense!?

In fact I don't know exactly what you mean. But I will try to answer it.
If you mean don't put all your money in a bank or use all your money to buy one share, I think I only have one tiny egg that I have to put it in one basket.
If you mean the real egg, well, I like eating eggs very very much! No matter what kind of egg it is cooked, I all like to eat. But when I buy eggs, I put all of them in a basket, because it is easy to take. Now there is only less than ten eggs in my fridge. I have eatten most of them!!

xoxox...that's so cute, xplp, and I like your earnest answer. I love eggs too, but there's just a sense of danger of putting all eggs in just one tiny basket. Even if it's a big one, it spells impending trouble for it will finish in one go! So that's why I think it's being compared to real life as well.
Have a lovely day..c;)

Hi Zed, I have a few scattered here and there but most of my egge on in a bowl on the side in the kitchen. Ellie :D
