changing colors? Mine are and it's too early!! Here in North Carolina, trees don't normally change colors until late September but because of the drought we've been experiencing, it's caused the a lot of the leaves to change earlier than normal. Is it like that in your area? I'm not ready for fall and winter just yet!! cry boo hoo!! With all the problems we've had since the end of April, hubby and I haven't had much time to swim in our pool sad I know we'll have next year, God willing but still... I want my summer to stay longer!! Don't you?

Oh wow, that really sucks! I hate fall because it is an omen of winter and the end of summer, it's so sad! I live up North in Pennsylvania, and the trees are still as green as they were in the beginning of summer, but it has been a bit more dry, but probably not as try as it in in North Carolina, since we have had no color changes in our foliage really, though it's really hard to keep the vegetable garden thriving because of the lack of water. Last year it was a lot worse here, it was so dry and arid. Rain tends to only come when you don't want it to come, and then it's not here in the time when we need it the most heh. You should still have plenty of time to swim in the pool, just because the trees are changing due to dryness it doesn't mean it won't be warm, though after labor day it may be a little downhill with the weather. I really really don't want our days to become shorter, how depressing, I really hate the cold and snow, though this year I will welcome it because I am leaving the country this December for a month thumbup. Well anyways, happy mylotting and have a great day! Good luck trying to get time to jump into that pool, savor the last bit of summer before it's over, or else the next chance you get to go in you will be another year older shocked

LOL I don't care how old I am, I'll never outgrow a pool! LOL I'll be a year older tomorrow for it's my birthday! LOL Trust me, it's a birthday to celebrate because I'll be 44 which means the 3 will be gone!! I have such bad luck with that number and bad luck all year long. My mom had a brain stem stroke and almost died three times in April. My husband's mother passed away in May, my cat got hit by a car and survived a terrible head injury and the vet bill was $617.55! my car isn't running right and hasn't since May. My newlywed nephew's wife left him after almost 2 months of marriage and they were together for 4 years! I could go on and on and on but I won't so tomorrow is a day to celebrate because I'll be 44!! YIPPEE!! lol
Ok getting back to the subject at hand... it's been really dry here, so much so that we've had quite a few burn bans put in place as well as restrictions on water use. It's been a very unusual summer to say the least and that's why a lot of leaves are changing so quickly. We've even had cooler days as well to where we've had to wear jeans and shirts to keep warm at night. It's really weird to have this kind of weather when we're used to it being so hot and muggy which it has been a for a few days but not many and when it is like that, I'm usually at my mom's doing things for her and by the time I get home, I'm too tired to enjoy my pool. I can only hope that next year will be better. I can only hope.... that is if my parents are still together for they're about to kill one another because they can't get along. Both have awful health problems and neither sypathizes with one another and nothing I do will solve that unless one comes to live with me and that's not going to happen either for niether one will budge so I've had to wash my hands of it and help them when I can.

In tropical countries we don't enjoy seeing the changes of colors. It is green all year round and you're lucky to experience 4 seasons. It is hot here and wish that I can enjoy winter as well. lol

myLot reputation of 96/100. CatsandDogs (6424)   ranked 26 out of 1,036 in nature  4 years ago

Really? Wow. That's interesting! I thought you'd experience some sort of color change... hmmmm I guess not. I guess you're right, I am lucky to experience the four seasons. The only thing is, I hate winter time because it's so cold!! I wouldn't mind a little bit of cooler air but down right biting cold, ugh! I hate that. Have you ever been out of your country before and experienced anything other than your one season? I can imagine you haven't and how it would be such a cool thing to experience for the first time. My God kids live in Florida and have never seen snow and I hope to show it too them one day.

The trees are not changing yet. We have had a moderate, for the most part, summer. I could stand to have the weather to stay just this way for about two or three months. I am not having to drive out of town lately and that makes me even more content.

myLot reputation of 96/100. CatsandDogs (6424)   ranked 26 out of 1,036 in nature  4 years ago

It's saddening to see the leaves change here for the fall weather is fast approaching. We've had a really mild summer this year and it has been so dry that we've had water restrictions as well as burn bans placed, it's been that bad and is why the leaves are changing so soon. We're suppose to get rain some time this afternoon and it's suppose to continue on till Saturday. We're going to be drenched!! lol

i also could do nicely with a bit more of summer time and fall and winter not approaching so quickly. There are some leaves turning brown but only a few as we had quite a bit of rain ecently.
Is you pool all right again and could you use it now if you wanted?

myLot reputation of 96/100. CatsandDogs (6424)   ranked 26 out of 1,036 in nature  4 years ago

Hello there book! You too are having a drought? Gosh it's so bad here that we've had water restrictions and burn bans put into place. It's suppose to rain this afternoon all the way till Saturday. We're going to be drenched silly!

Yes we can use the pool now although the liner has a leak still and hubby can't seem to find it or all of them. We think it's due to the vacuum piece where the brushes go that's caused the problem because the brushes are all worn down and the clip that holds the brushes is pretty sharp. rolleyes Oh what we all learn as we go with new things

Not yet. Not at least in norther Spain where I live. There everything will be green at least till the end of september, even in mountain areas. I am now in St.Petersburg (Russia) which is a lot colder and still everything is very very green. You can hardly see the ground anywhere of so much green stuff growing everywhere.

myLot reputation of 96/100. CatsandDogs (6424)   ranked 26 out of 1,036 in nature  4 years ago

You're in Spain? Oh how cool!! thumbup I have a good friend who's from Spain and now she lives in the states, in Florida in fact. Her mother married an american in the military and had three girls all in Spain and then when her husband retired, they all moved to Florida. My friend remembers Spain really well and misses it very much. All her family on her mother's side is still there. Anyway, my friend has three kids whom my husband and I are God parents to. Small world, isn't it? lol
So everything is still green? That's really neat how things can be so different in different parts of the world. We've been experiencing a terrible drought all summer long and have had restrictions on water useage and burn bans in place due to the lack of rain and now it's suppose to start raining this afternoon till Saturday. If that happens then we'll be drenched!! lol

lolI just had to go outside and look at the trees to check, and no, I am pleased to say that as yet no changes. Mind you we have had tons of rain so it is not surprising, although we have been forecast a good week this week so I am really pleased about that! It has been an awful summer for us weather wise.....again.

We've had the opposite, we're praying for rain and we've gotten some tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night. Now THAT is a bit much but it's mother nature for ya. It does what it wants and that's that. lol Maybe our leaves will turn green again for a little while longer. It remains to be seen.

vinesh_kcm - What is your point?

No, not yet dear Cats. Our colors on the trees are still green at present, but about mid to late September they will be changing. The climate is already starting to change here. It is getting cooler at night and I have to cover up and turn off the fans, because I get cold. Come October or November I will be turning on the heat in my room. happyIn North Carolina, it is colder than it is here, so the leaves may change a bit sooner than us. I would love to take a drive and see the colors as they change. thumbup

myLot reputation of 96/100. CatsandDogs (6424)   ranked 26 out of 1,036 in nature  4 years ago

Hi Oreo! I'm like you, I love to see the color change for it's so beautiful what nature does. When I was living in Texas, where there aren't any trees like my home state, Virginia has, and I'd come home for a visit, I'd take all kinds of pictures of the beauty of the trees because I missed them so much and now that I'm in NC, I get to see them all year round and I'm loving it!! But we've been needing rain some kind of bad and we got some tonight and it's suppose to carry on till Saturday night. Now that's a bit much but mother nature has it's say and she will do as she pleases. lol

not just yet, but i have seen the odd leaf that is yellow and laying on the ground. we also have had a ton of rain this year which is fairly unusual (i am in southern ontario, canada) and the weather is still quite warm - cool today, about 70 so i dont imagine they will change yet.

That's really interesting how our world works in different places. We've had such a terrible drought that we've had water use restrictions and burn bans left and right. They were lifted and then placed again. We're suppose to get rain this afternoon and it's suppose to last till Saturday. If that happens then we'll be drenched silly! lol

Oh gosh I couldn't live somewhere that rained all the time! Ugh! That would be right depressing. When I first moved to Texas in 1991, it rained and rained and rained that I thought that's all it did there was rain. It was so bad that it flooded the newly renovated park and ruined everything. All of it was under water and it took a year for the water to completely receed. So no way could I live where it rained all the time but I'm sure you're used to it since you've probably lived there all your life.
