If you're a Christian, do you feel bad for not reading the Bible?

I feel bad for the same reason.I dont read Bible often,yet im a Christian.I hope in the coming days I will be a good chap and read Bible.God bless all.Happy mylotting

hello, to me reading anything is good for adult and mature people.

just reading a bible make you realize what you forget to do in your life, & what will be good step to be in your life,your right lot of people now forget the bibble except the will just past by to the bookstore & buy thier favorite story book & they enjoyy reading them.

Why feel sorry for not reading the Bible? Well if you are a Christian, honestly, you have reasons to be feel guilty. Why? Because reading the Bible is one way of showing that we're really obedient to God. It is HIM who commanded us to read His word (The Bible, The Scripture). Reading the Bible is one way of communicating to God. Beginning in the time Moses, God remind His people to read and meditate upon His word. Even in the time of Joshua, before crossing and invading the Land of Canaan, God said to Joshua: "Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it...." Even in the New Testament of the Bible, we can see how the reading of God's word was encouraged. I Timothy:4:13 up to 15. Paul said to young Timothy: "Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture....Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress." As Christians, we are stewards of God's word...so we have a responsibility to read it and to share it as well. And of course we need to know that the Bible is not just an ordinary Book, nor it is not only sacred,rather it's inspired by God: "All scripture is God-breathed (inspired) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.-- II Timothy 3:16-17.

well for me it's not just about reading but it's of applying the words of God into your life. anyways, not all people are allowed to read the bible. there are only those chosen few who are allowed to read and understand the bible. those chosen few that im referring are those who study about a certain kind of religion and should be "spirited" and called. most of us can read the bible but only few are given the right to comprehend the true meaning of it. these people are the disciples of God in this new time. and they are the ones who will share HIS words to us.

Hi Roneyes, I have never read from cover to cover but through the Word for Today which gives a story each day and then refernces to read in the Bible I manage to read through in a year every year. I have the copy of the New King James Spirit Filled Life Bible and what I love about hat is that it gives a Truth in Action section at the end of each book and also explains meanings of certain words and their context as you go through. At the end it also has a sections called, Spiritual answers to Hard Questions, The Holy Spirit & Restoration and Holy Spirit Gifts & Power. I read a section before sleep each night before I pray. First of all, if we(Christians) will not read our Bibles, how are we to share others about Christ and God. Yes it is book that must be boring to others but for a Christian who knows about His Savior, how could one fail to know the beauty of your God when in the first place, you don't know nothing about Him. The Bible is our only source of truth of a loving and just God. I remembered someone says: That the Bible is the traveler's map, the pilgrim's staff, the pilot's compass!

God is the source of all truth, and since the Bible contains His words, they also contain His absolute truth. No more, no less.

After I read The Urantia Book and what it says about Jesus, God and the Bible, I was amazed by the clarity and understanding with which I could see the Bible and all that it says...

All religious books are written to balanced life for human-being to live in peace, sympathy etc. But some people fight against with other religion people that their religion is true n gr8, it is foolish to see. We can't predict it, we have to realize n follow good things from religious books, that is the ultimate thing, religious books have been created

Me As a christian, i will feel sorry for not reading the bible everyday, but i will do my quite time and have time of prayer with my Dearly Father In Heaven. Bible to us as a christian, is God's words that talk to us everyday and teach us about all the goods and the bad. Thank you for sharing.
