Halloween Party Preparations  

I normally just give out candy here at home to the little ones, well the not so little ones also. haha Looks like this Halloween we will either be on the highway or already at my daughter's. The NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway is on the 2nd of Nov. is the reason we will be up there.
We don't have anyplace around here that does anything fun like what you mentioned but it does sound like a really fun time to be had by all. I like the idea of people getting to carve pumpkins into jack o lanterns for the event.

wow..sounds cool! I have no idea if we have something like that in our area, it will be my first Halloween here and having no kids right now, I do know if hubby and I will be going somewhere, maybe if we will have some invitation with friends with kids! LOL!

Last year I got to go with when they took my granddaughter to the mall...they had lots of fun activities for them to do too....and it's safer then them running from door to door...she is a little too young for anything too scary!

I haven't yet decided if I will be taking my boys to a Halloween party this year. I do enjoy going to those things, and even more, I enjoy hosting them.
Here is a photograph I took today of a trail that I think would make a good Halloween trail.

Well being from the UK, we do not really seem to celebrate halloween the same. All people around here do is take the kids trick or treating. Well, growing up I never actually went trick or treating and so it was something that I never did with my son when he was little. I was a single parent with him and then when I met my now hubby when my son was 8 he was going with his friends. When I had my other children my hubby is always the one to take them trick or treating, so I reckon he will probably be the one to take them again this year. He did ask me if I wanted to take them, but I just do not, I just do not like the idea of knocking on peoples doors for sweets. Although the good thing is that I can afford this year to get some treats in for any trick or treaters that knock at our door. No one ever really bothers with celebrations for halloween and I do not know anyone that decorates their house either.

Sounds lovely to me. Our community really does Halloween up as a harvest festival. We have so much fun. I love the pumpkin chunkin'. I really get into the visual aspect of it all. Too cool. Thanks for posting on this.

Your Nature Center looks and sounds terrific, Grandpa Bob! It's a great idea to let the area folks carve the pumpkins for the party; that way they'll all look uniquely spooky when lit on the big nite!

My grandchildren would love a set up like this. Unfortunately, we'll be in Oregon when their parents are taking them trick or treating Halloween nite! I hope they take plenty of pictures of the fireman and Cinderella..Happy Halloween!

A week before Halloween my friend is holding Halloween party because some people cannot make for day itself so my friend is holding it next week, it should be fun.

I pass out candy but that is about all. We never have celebrated Halloween even when growing up except for having our Fall Festival at Church. I do enjoy seeing the different things people can do with with a pumpkin and a knife.

I'm taking my son trick or treating, but otherwise have no plans for Halloween. I'm sure that he'll have a party at school, and I don't want to overwhelm him with activities. Having Autism makes it difficult for him sometimes to deal with unusual events, so most holidays are a little stressful for both of us. We do have a lot of fun with it though. Last year it took him 3 or 4 houses before he was really into the trick or treating thing, but after that, he didn't want to stop. He really seemed to enjoy the experience. I'm hoping that this year he's as enthusiastic once I get him out there. Maybe he'll even say "trick or treat" this year... last year he said "treat," "please," and sang when I tried to get him to say it (nothing like a rendition of "I'm a little teapot" instead of trick or treat).
