didn't exercise their right to vote. I have a friend. He is going to be 53. Today was the first time he ever voted! I was so proud of him. For myself as soon as I was old enough I was registered, and tried at least to be informed. I just got off the phone with my friend. I think he was glad he voted. What a milestone for him.

I personally would be a little offended that someone didn't vote. I'm a veteran, a combat veteran, and I feel that if I protected it...everyone else can exercise it.

Yeah it is. My mom hasn't voted much nor my stepdad. I registered as soon as I was 18 and thought it was exciting to be able to throw my vote into the loop and help in making changes.

Women and minorities had to fight so hard for the right to vote that I think members of either group should be highly motivated to exercise their right.

It really doesn't bother me a whole lot if people vote or not. It is their choice. I think we have about an even amount of voters anyway.

My son is 19 (20 this month) and has never registered to vote. By the time he decieded that he was going to vote this year, it was too late for him to register. I felt bad that he didn't exercise his right to get registered in time to vote.

I think everyone should vote, but it's their choice. They are adults and it's also their right if they don't want to vote.
I voted today right after work. Sorry to say this, but with all the coverage and conflict and everything else, I am sick of hearing about it all and can't wait for the media frenzy to die down. I'm glad election day is finally here!
How did your friend feel? Was he happy to finally vote? :)

Voting is a right people should take serious. However, some people don't care. In my opinion, those who don't vote have no right to complain when the government messes up. After all, they chose to do nothing about it.
It's important to show where you stand.
