They'll probably report it to the hosting company. Such companies are really eager to flush down these phishing sites. As the matter of fact, most web hosting have a strict policy regarding phishing. Once you report something, you can expect to have immediate result.

Welcome. Just make sure to send to them your original mylot referral URL. It's everyone's responsibility to check whether they're on a phishing site or not. As you can see, a useful tip for this was stated on the discussion.

I assume that myLotanswers is using the same script as what myLot has. That way, whenever the sorties, stats, and the posts on the frontpage updates, the phishing site will also reflect the updated content to its frontpage. I don't know how they did it but hey, they're quite smart... and dangerous!

I wonder how long has that site being operating, because yesterday i could hardly logon to mylot, i mean i would login and post a response but when try to browser through other discussions i could see that i was not logged in.

I was browsing on mozilla and it kept logging off and i switched to IE and same thing happened there, i'm not sure if wether they were directing the mylot address i was tyoing there into their address or what but i could nit login

But few minutes ago i just sent mail to admin to let them have a look at that site and i hope everyone else here has done it.

I also took another step in reporting that site on the microsoft website as a phishing site and i hope they will take a look at it also

Please be alert, do not open that site with the same browser you used to login mylot now, that way phishing could be easy, if you logged in using you mozilla...then please view it with internet explorer or something

Have you tried to open mylotanswers.com in Internet Explorer?
I'm aware that IE has this Phishing Site detector feature. I'm wondering if it detected the anomaly of mylotanswers.

Anyway, I'm using Firefox right now. I think FF is better than IE. It's even much better if you partner it with ZoneAlarm Firewall. That doubles the protection against hackers.

Yes i opened that site with internet explorer and guess what...the site just opened like any other normal sites, i just wonder if itried to login there what would happen, would it detect that this site is a phishing site

But one thing i did while i opened this site on IE i reported it to microsoft as a phishing site

I agree. That particular thing is one of the mayhem caused by phishing site. They will basically ruin a site's reputation. Not only that people will be confused but they will also lose trust towards a certain site that's supposed to be legitimate.

I also think what they are looking for is the payout, i mean if someone logged to their site with that login info they can easitly change your e-mail address and enter their own so that when you request payments from mylot it will go straightt into their account

You see things like this only kill the reputation of our site as you said, now everybody who will be thinking of joining mylot will say "that site is easily scamed"

I just hope no one has lost anything upto this point, those who requested payout the past few days should be concerned

Well it's a good practice to be have a keen eye on the address bar everytime you log-in. Not just on myLot, but also with sites that you find really important which contains your personal or financial information.

I assume that whoever that punk is, I'm quite sure that he/she had embedded his referral URL to the registration form so that when someone had registered to the fake site, it will then be redirected to the real site and he/she will earn an instant referral downline. I won't even dare to use that deceptive form on registering an account since I'm quite aware that most sites that requires registering, usually logs the IP address of the registrant. That's like a instant bonanza for a hacker.

Hmmm, I wonder why. Perhaps your internet connection came across a glitch or something. I've visited the links that I've mentioned but nothing really weird had happened to my computer. Well in case something like this happens again, you should try to click the repair button on the connection's window (Support Tab) to refresh the IP address.
