We are having Reuben sandwiches for dinner. My hubby bought 2 different kinds of rye. Hard, and soft. We have the kraut, and cheese and 1000 Island dressing. Do you like Reubens? How do you make yours? Extra sauerkraut? Toasted well, what makes them hit the spot for you?

I love Reuben Sandwiches. It is my favorite sandwich. I well tell you a secret to make the absolute best Reuben. I learned this from a restaurant that I worked at while going to college. Add some horseradish to the thousand island dressing. It gives it a kick and makes it extra good.

I have never had a Reuben sandwich before. It sounds as though it would be delicious though I love everything that makes one. I think it is time to make one. I have thousand island dressing since it is my favorite dressing.
.. My husband isn't to fond of rye bread or the thousand island but as long as I fix him something else he will be happy.

I don't think I have ever tried Reubens before. I'm not sure if I would like to try it or not. I like thousand island but not sure if I would like the kraut these days.

Jewish rye, swiss cheese, I don't care for the kraut so I don't use it but never thought about the 1000 island dressing - gonna give that a try next time. I use mustard currently.

I love Reubens, my mother used to make them with a canned corn beef when I was a kid. I think I would prefer to make corned beef myself and slice it nice and thick. I have a basic mistrust of canned meat!

Yummy, Reubens! I made some of those last week for dinner. I make mine with Beefsteak Hearty Rye bread(no exceptions), corned beef, Bavarian sauerkraut( the sweeter kind), Big eye Swiss cheese and Kraft 1000 Island Dressing. I also butter the bread really well and grill it on low to make sure the cheese melts well.

I love reubens, minus the sourkraut. I've never liked sourkraut. But there was a restaurant nearby that used to serve something called the dagwood, have you ever heard of that? Well I got hooked on it. It's a lot like a reuben, prepared the same way, only they use ham and coleslaw instead. I used to go there and ask for a reuben minus the kraut, until the day they suggested I try the dagwood. Then I got so hooked, I started making them at home.
Unfortunatly that restaurant switched owners and they no longer make a dagwood. So sad.

I've never had a Reuben sandwich. I'm not certain that I would like them, since I'm not much of a fan of sauerkraut.
