Are you cutting costs by letting your hair grow? |
|
I heard on Clark Howard yesterday (great show, saves me lots of money, check out his website at clarkhoward.com) that people are going longer between haircuts, women and men both are letting their hair grow and even doing coloring at home. I know that I'm one of them. I can't decide if I want my hair cut short or want to grow it but in the meantime I don't have to spend money on a haircut. I'm saving about $10 this way, assuming I get my hair cut every couple of months. Clark was saying how he was getting his hair cut and his stylist was angry with him for advocating this way of saving money--he was nervous having someone with scissors mad at him! Luckily, she didn't take it out on him or his hair!
How about you? Are you changing your grooming habits to save money? I used to cut my kids' hair but I was so bad at it that my husband made me stop!

31. xParanoiax (4937) | 10 months ago | Nah, I don't even let my parents cut my hair for free xD It's reaaally long now too, and technically, I need more shampoo to care for it...so I'm not really "saving" anything...even though I've never gone to a stylist or anything, heh.
Still, it's my hair dangit. I hope it's down to my feet once I'm old!

32. ryzach (1176) | 10 months ago | I am actually letting my hair grow because I want to save money. I was going to grow it out anyway but usually get it trimmed and thinned out as my hair is very thick. But I have waited not wanting to spend the extra money. We have so much to save for and my husband got laid off so every cent is important right now. In fact it is time to color my hair as well but it will have to wait for a while. My hair needs a trim but I can make it look good for right now so it is okay to wait. When it gets out of control then I will get the trim.

dragon54u (9515) | 10 months ago | I colored my hair for awhile when it first began getting grey but I don't know why I did that. Grey hair is part of aging and I can't deny I'm growing old so now it's about half and half, mostly in the front. I'm glad I went back to natural. I'm letting mine grow, too, I just hope it grows long enough by summer that I can get it off my neck!

33. twoey68 (9610) | 4 weeks ago | Well, I've always cut Hubby's hair b/c he doesn't like to go to a barber and I was getting mine cut every other month at a cost of $17 a pop. Lately though I haven't had it cut...I just don't want to spend the money. I doubt I'll let it grow out but I'll wait longer between cuts.

dragon54u (9515) | 4 weeks ago | I was going to let mine grow but on a very hot day in June I gave in and got it VERY short. I hope it grows out enough by the time hot weather comes so I can pull it back. I'm not sure if I prefer it short or long.
My ex husband used to buzz the boys' hair and we saved money there, until they got to high school and wanted different styles!

34. BulletTooth (252) | 4 weeks ago | My hair looks a mess when it gets to a certain length so I like to keep it short. I get it cut every three weeks.

BulletTooth (252) | 4 weeks ago | It grows quick and it's thick so it goes bushy. I used to get it cut every two weeks but as I've got older I've got lazier lol. I could never have long hair, a towel dry is enough for me and I couldn't be bothered with all that fussing about in front of the mirror, that's not me at all.
