How I wish we could rant on our own language here so I can speak plainly Filipino.

What are you thinking @acmepride? Not because one is qualified does mean he/she is capable of running the country. If we are just talking about qualifications, everyone knows that to work as a teacher, or even just a janitor, you need more qualifications than to run as a President of our country. So practically, anyone can run as a President. But what does Manny Pacquiao have to be able to stir our nation back to normalcy?

I do hope this discussion will just show that there are more normal Filipino registered voters than those who give in to patronage and "movie" politics that we currently have in our country.

I'll keep it short and simple. NO. period.

I do think that manny pacquiao is a great filipino icon to represent the country in boxing, but i dont think h's fit to take all the responsibilities as a president. He gives in to pressure and mostly does anything his coach tells him to do. I think he should keep to what he's best at and thats boxing.

he might be famous for being a good boxer.. but i do not think he has what it got to be a president of the Philippines...a lot of politicians just wants him to join politics, so that they can get also get help from him in campaigning for he got the money.. When he gets elected, he will just get advice from those corrupt officials around him. and if wants to help the people, he can to so without entering politics, and he can also help the people be educated about sports...be the president of an sports organization, but definitely not the Philippines..the Philippines has alot of problems already, the people cannot afford to try to have a president that they are not sure off. its like doing trial and error.. lol..

with he handled his contract with Solar sports, how can he even handle the affairs of the country?

I don't think he would even dare to run.

Oh NO MANNY PACQUIAO for president! Oh C'mon!!! First off, I don't think he has the capacity to reign the country. Second, he doesn't know how to speak English straight, do you want the other countries to laugh at our country and have pity on us that we don't have the real right person for the president?! Alright I know the fact that Manny Pacquiao is the most influential person according to Time Magazine of 2009 which he lines up together with Oprah, Ellen Degeneres, Brad Pitt and so on.. But, let's be more realistic here, Manny is the right person for it. Even he has the charisma for the people, still he doesn't have enough knowledge about how to rule a country. I think many politians will be against to this.. Let him get his diploma first at Ateneo, but I think he's taking Management, so at least that sort of help the economy.. still Maybe! I guess for now what Manny can do is to donate, put up schools and such for the country, with that he helps more that reigning the country, which he always says that 'helping is what is into'. By the way, my dad is a fan of his, and I met Manny Pacquiao at my friend's wedding. Just a thought of sharing it..

LOL. I don't think he should give it a thought to run for President of the country.That is so impossible. Just because he now has loads of money doesn't mean that he could run the affairs of a country. I mean, come on.

I have read some of the other users discussions. and most have truth fully said No. I thought you were just making a joke, but if it does then it's against mylot violation. but i guess you weren't. Remember the incident when Pacquiao Change his mind in joining ABS-CBN and leaving the GMA/Solar Sports. Later, He went back to avoid getting sued. That was a very immature decision on his part and such is not acceptable in politics or Public Service most specially if he's planning to run. he can be easily be used and manipulated by any one who's smarter than him. in this regard, I would Strong Fully say "no" I just told the reason and that's it. .
