And I think that our children always teach us what life itself is. I will greatly appreciate your views on this.

To giggle uninhibitedly like the music of the rain.. To be amused with the WHYs, WHENs and HOWs eternally.. To be innocent and pure like the first dew on a leaf.. To be transparent and unaffected and bold.. To be charmed and fly into imagination believing in it... To fight only to make up seconds after.. To cry and forget it all.. To cuddle as if there's no tomorrow... There are so many things, like to blabber as I am now, and yet be loved...

Hello balasri. I think that we do learn a lot of things from our kids though we are teaching them a lot. You know, people at different age are usually interested in different things and it seems that kids are more advanced in learning new things, especially something fashionable and popular. I have found that I have learned a lot from my students. Learning is fun though. Good day, friend.

yup,we do try to inculcate good habits but children on the other hand do teach us alot with their innocence.one of the things is to live life selflessly,i dont think very small kids have many wants and they also smile in face of adversity.

All I can say is that learning is a never ending process & if a person is teachable, it doesn't matter how young or old the other party is, we can also learn from them!~Just like you've said it, even children can teach us many things!~

Hmm, I used to think that I teach my kids and not vice versa. This is new that we learn things from our kids. In which prespective you are saying it ?

There are so many lessons I have learned and I'm still learning from my child. The biggest one is the way she can relish the moment and find joy in the simplest of things. She can love so unconditionally. I can look awful and feel bad about myself and she still tells me I'm beautiful, God bless her heart!

A smile on a child's face, the look of innocence reminds us that life is special. At times when we question ourselves as to what this life is all about, a look at your children is enough to give you a reason.

I think that every relationship people are in will learn them a great deal about life. With your children it is that much more personal because they are literarly a part of you and resemble life in many forms. Our children can teach us about everlasting love, truth but also humor and creativity. I don't have any children myself yet, but the toddlers I take care for at the daycentre teach me new things about life every day.

Thank you so much, Balasri. I really do mean it and I am very happy that I've mentioned to capture that feeling in my writing. It is something that can be very tricky, but I mentioned to get it on paper as you describe what I hoped to get across Mylot. Thank you for your sweet response.

I agree with the statement that we teach many things to children ;I also feel that they teach more things to us than what we taught them.THis is my experience. As far as what life is, I think many people share this credit--our Interactions, our mistakes, our miscalculations , our wrong assessments, our disillusionments, the lessons we learn from many near, dear, distant ones contribute to the learning process.Human interactions bring different lessons in their wake and the smart ones learn these faster .Nowadays, children are smarter than the adults; they have greater exposure, are thrown in a tough world and learn their lessons faster.WHen they pass this on to us , we can once again say that children teach us many more things. But as I had written earlier, about what life itself isI feel, there are many other factors that come into play. But if you mean that children make life meaningful, or that they give meaning to our lives, I agree with you cent percent.

If one is smart enough to know where and what to pickup from children it is most definately the truth. So many of us think "they are just kids" and don't see what is right there in front of their faces. The innocence a child has allows them to see the world in a different set of eyes than does an adult. Great discussion. Thanks Zelo

Kids tell us that we are always not right and we often commit mistakes and when they catch our mistakes, they should tell us that we should do our home work in a better way, before teaching them........LOL!

I definitely agree yes we teach our kids but the lessons that they sometimes teach us are far greater I think the best lesson that kids teach us is that we should slow down to play and enjoy life

Yes, we teach our children many things in life, but they teach us how to appreciate the wonder and joys of our childhood... that which we've left behind. I love being with children, even if they're not my own. They make me laugh and surprise me with their intelligence. Brightest Blessings, my friend.

Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted.-Garrison Keillor

Right now, I am listening to my three year old great-nephew sing a song that he obviously does not know all the lyrics to, because he continues to sing the same line over and over again. I think that one of the greatest things that children teach us is unconditional love. They are always willing to forgive and give us another chance to get it right. As long as they believe that we are sincere in our sorrow. I love to watch children at play. It reminds me to not sweat the small stuff. Everything will eventually work itself out one way or another if we have faith.

Well, a good example might be that when kids get into a fight, they usually forget about the argument in a matter of hours. Is really amazing that they don't remain upset with eachother for too long. Adults usually stay mad at somebody for years.

Hi bala, I think that children are more intelligent that what we give them credit for and they know a lot more too, yes I do believe they do teach us more as they grow older and that is another reason why our children keep us young at heart..LoLo

I think so to balasri! I have learned a lot from my children about life and myself. I learned how to love without condition. I learned how to give selflessly..I learned that love is real..I learned that the most simple things can hold the most beauty. We can learn alot indeed from our children. Kind of makes you wonder who it is that is the teacher sometimes..lol.

I agree, children do teach us so much. I am always so busy, with being a full time mom, having a full time job, carpooling, daycare, school, the list goes on and on. I try to fit in as much quality time with the kids as I can but it's hard as any mom will tell you. The other day, when we were on a walk, the kids were itching to jump in the puddles after it had just rained. 'stay out of the mud puddles,' I demanded, and then an image flashed through my mind, it was of the kids, walking like little soldiers in a straight line, the rest of the way to the door. that's not what I remember my child hood being like , I thought, how much fun does that sound? not much. 'never mind,' I said, 'splash all you want,' really? my 3 year old asked me with wide eyes. 'yeah, why not' I said as we splashed home. I think my life lesson that day was that in all the commotion of daily life, I was forgetting to take the time to splash in life's puddles, and appreciate all the small little things and moments with my children, for they won't be little for long.
