If you can go back to the past... |
|
If you have a time machine and you can go back to the past to fix something, which stage will you go to? I think I will go back to the time when I was in the kindergarten. I would tell my parents not to keep me there. And I would start to study hard when I was a child

I wish I worked out a lot more back when I was in highschool my life would be so much better if I did.

72. sarahruthbeth22 (10543) | 8 months ago | It is just as well that I can't go back to change things. I fear I would go back and reign down on those who have wronged me so powerfully I would come back to the present and I would be in jail.

73. ajithlal (3254) | 8 months ago | I also wish that I can go to the past so that I can change lots of things of my past. I have made lots of mistakes in my past and I wish sometimes I could change them. Sometimes I wish I could have not hurt others with my words and deeds and I would definitely go my past and would have changed it. I think I would have gone to childhood. I love being as a very much. I think childhood is the best time in a person's life.

| 75. b0naf1de (81) | 8 months ago | This is a very interesting question, but one that begs for a little elaboration on what just about anybody would want. For the most part noone would just want to go back in time, but what they really want is to go back in a certain time, where they have known what would otherwise have happened if they didn't do this or that - i.e., going back with the knowledge you have now. But what if you really could go back, but without the knowledge you have now, leading to possibly the same mistakes again. For me, it is a believable concept - to go back in time, but to go back with knowledge is the same as to predict the future, if you really think about it. You must have knowledge to make the decisions for a better. You either go back with it or have it now and make the best decision towards the future. If such a thing really was possible though, it could save us, but also cause castrophic havoc. What if such a skill was used in wars, or business relations where one party would know exactly what the other would do because he/she knows what the other would do. That is on the sole rule of physical matter in time and space. But another good question is what exactly is Time in the first place? How can we measure it. We have minutes, seconds, microseconds, nano seconds. It goes on and on, but we can never really divide it into one smallest unit of measure. The same way we cannot determine an end to the universe - even if there is a big wall in the end, what is behind that wall? We could never divide a particle into suffuciently small pieces either, from molecules to atoms to quarks to what - and the reason for that is - if there's no end to space, why should there be an end (how big sometime can be) then why should there be an end to how small something can be? But going back to the decisions, do we really posses a soul - something that is not tied to time and space, and probably not any kind of pain either (emotional, physical) - then if that survives our physical death, why would it even matter trying to correct the past (time spent and experienced in human form)? What about the 'everything happens for a reason' saying. Well I don't really believe that in the sense that our lives was predetermined, but the reasons things happen for seems to be our own judgement which is based on our previous experiences or expected outcomes based on knowledge or epiphany. A lifelong question that has plauged mankind for ages is where do we go when we die or atleast what happens. Some claim people come back as ghosts, some believe karma, but there is no proof anywhere that anyone has ever come back to tell the story, atleast not yet. Failing to put concrete reason behind trying to unravel meaning to all this that just is (existance), most seek after religion for a means of satisfying that there is a higher purpose for all that happens to them and it was meant to be that way. But with all these different religions, and all of them having different views, how will we ever know which one is the right one, if any. The only common trend is that there is a god. But that god, throughout all the religions has been seen as a living entity that is (have always existed), and will always exist. Some personify this god as a thinking entity who knows all of the future and the past, but yet still tests us to see what we will do. The rest see life as something that has always been here, with no beginning (creation) or end, and god as nothing but the collective of existance (everything everywhere) but not as a judgemental entity. It has been said that all the animals has been made by He, and they all interplay with each other and each was created in perfect balance. But have we ever thought that species go extinct, that nature itself, the rules of survival would only keep those which has evolved with the right tools to survive, and the rest completely doomed by failure? It's like a thinkering, randomly nature will change one gene at a time, and what you see today is the result of millions of years of evolution where the interplay has long been determined and is continually being changed by the evolution and adaptability of species to their changing environment. There is alot to think about, but when we look back, from our ancestors building tall buildings to 'reach' god, yet we now know that this earth is not flat, and that looking up is the same as looking down or not looking anywhere for god is all around us. I know I have strayed significally from the topic but I believe a fuller understanding of the dust inside the bubble is better seen from outside the bubble.
