I didn't read any where in the US Constitution about gays have same rights;  |

as other Americans. A matter-of-fact their isn't one word in the Constitution that relates to Gays. I wonder if our four fathers beleived that these types of people were sicken,and perverted, that they had no place in our society, and should be keep in the closet. It makes my stomack turn every time I here that gays, if thats what you want to be called,think they have a place in our Society. I personally beleive you have no place in our Society, and that traditional Mariage is between a Man and a Women only.

Equal protection of the laws included equal rights. I know it's hard to tolerate people you don't like, but don't make stuff up to justify your inclination to discriminate.

7. connierebel (397) | 8 months ago | The argument is not about gays having "rights", its about the true meaning of marriage, which by definition is a union between a man and a woman. Gays and lesbians can still enjoy all the same rights as everybody else. If they want to live together like many straight couples do, that's their own personal life and no one says anything about it. It should not even be an issue in regards to employment, etc. But we still need safeguards for the traditions and family life of this country.

Does this then mean that neither you nor I should have any rights? While I would that all people were straight, this does not prevent me from making sure that others are equally protected and respected under the law. When the Constitution speaks of "we the people" or "anyone," it is inclusive of any human, regardless of sexual preference.
