I have always been told I look like my mother. She now lives in a different state than I do. But I am forever having people she went to school with coming up to me and asking if I am related to her. Do you look like one of your parents?

I am most commonly likely to be told I look like my father. I have dark hair and dark eyes, just like he does. However, once upon a time I was told that I look like my mother. The speaker was being complimentary because she thought my mother was attractive. I guess it only makes sense to be a mixture of both. I have heard, however, that babies tend to look like the father earlier in life and then kind of grow into a kind of blend. According to the theory put forward, resemblance to the father serves an evolutionary role by making the man more likely to accept the kid as their own.

I have been told that I look like both of my parents. I think I look alot like my mom but I also see some of my dad's features in me also. I look more like my mom as I have grown older.

I have been told many times I look like my mother and only once I look like my father. My mom has school photos of herself and we looked almost identical. I was at a store with my grandmother helping her and someone walked up to be and my grandma and said "she has got to be Sue's Daughter" My grandma confirmed it. She told me I was a spitting image if her. I was at a wedding a few days later and same thing..So yep I look like my mom..

I've been told that I look like my dad. However, it was only one time, but I'll probably remember it for the rest of my life. LOL I was just 14 years old when this incident occurred. It was at my dad's wedding reception. A friend of my dad's had come up to me and asked me if I was my father's daughter because I looked just like him. Eeek! Needless to say it was the last thing I wanted to hear with being a teenage girl! But I guess I was bound to look like one of my parents! They are my parents, after all! LOL I've also been told that my kids look like me, though I think my youngest son looks especially so like his momma! It must be his eyes.

Others often say I look like my dad. Perhaps we are both thin and we are alike. It seems nobody says I look like my mom:) I love China

Hello ersmommy. I often hear familiar people say that I look like my mother. I agree with them. We have a saying that sons look like Mother while daughters look like Father. In most cases, I think that it is so though not completely. Take care.

I am most often compared to my father as far as my looks and my disposition - however, on the phone I am frequently confused for my mother. It seems we have a similar voice and expression.

I have the mother curse too. I have some strong features of my dad, especially his skin color, but I have always gotten that "You look just like your mother" line. *eyerolls* But what's really scary is when you are brushing your teeth or doing something else in the mirror, and one of your kids calls you for something and you catch yourself making a face that your mother made at you many a time! Sends chills down your spine lol.

Thanks for the best response! The bad part I didn't tell you about was, I've cursed my daughter with these looks too. There's a picture of me at her age, maybe younger. She found it, and brought it to me saying "Mommy, its a picture of me!" I looked at it and said "No baby, that's me" lol.

I look a lot like my mother. I once had someone I worked with ask me if I was related to the "Sxxxx" family because I looked like my mother. Different last name and they still asked.

My sister and I.. although we have different fathers, both look just like my mother, only I have brown eyes while they both have blue. Actually my sister and I look so much like each other that people often asked if she was my child. I was 14 when she was born though. My daughter looks just like me too, although she has the blue eyes like my mother and sister do. Must be something that runs in the girls in my family.

I look like my father. My mother was a beautiful woman but I don't look like her. I used to overhear people say "She's pretty but her mom looks a lot prettier than her". It kind of hurt my feelings but I think some people could not keep their mouth shut. My father is handsome too but I sometimes wish I look more like my mom :(

I do look like my father, but more look a like to my aunt. In my country, it's so often said that if you're a girl and you look like your father, then you will get along with him, but if you're a girl and you look like your mother, then you won't. This is also apply to boys. Funny thing is, this happens a lot here..
