I'm getting out of here. |
|
It's 105 degrees outside right now, at 7pm. I would now like to move. Okay, who likes pets and doesn't mind country music? Anyway...if you were to move, what would the reason be? I'm not moving, but if there were a reason for me to move from my state to another, right now I'd point the finger at the heat. Boy do I feel for the people in Arizona.

1. cher913 (13981) | 6 months ago | well i like our house but i want to move because we have way too many stairs in it. we live in a 5 level condo (townhouse) and because of my constant knee pain and the wear and tear on my knees by going up and down the stairs, it is just getting too hard to handle.

5. jillhill (11840) | 6 months ago | Wow! I've been freezing my butt off in New York! I am back home and it's beautiful here....if I were to move that would be a toughy. Since my daughters live in two different states that would probably be a destination....both of them want me to move by them....other then that....my dream has always been to live by a lake...I wouldn't mind getting snowed in in the winter...and in the summer it would be a perfect place to be!

6. mentalward (4373) | 6 months ago | If you had asked that question a month ago, I'd say I'd want to move TO Arizona, just to get away from all the rain we've had since just before Spring began. I lost my first garden planting because of all the rain. It killed my tomato plants, my potato plants, plus everything else I planted. I was so depressed I didn't want to try again. But, I did and I'm glad I did. The rains have slowed down a bit and everything is growing very well right now.
We moved to Virginia from Maryland two years ago for a number of reasons. The first reason was the cost of living. Maryland is one of the highest on the east coast. It's so much cheaper to live in Virginia. The second was the snobbish attitude of the majority of people in Maryland. The more money people have, the higher in the air their noses seem to be and Maryland has a LOT of wealthy people. The third reason was the slower pace in Virginia as compared with Maryland. The majority of drivers in Maryland didn't seem to realize that they had speed limits, a brake pedal or a turn signal. Here in Virginia, it's the exception.
The weather is pretty much the same, except storms are a bit worse here because we're in the mountains. But, we bought a nice house with 3 1/2 acres of land for half as much as it would have cost us in Maryland. That was the main reason for moving. I've always wanted enough land to grow fruit and nut trees, berry bushes and have a huge veggie garden. I never had that until we moved here.
I don't think the temperature has reached 100 degrees since we've lived here, although our first year here was pretty hot and dry. This year, I think it has only gone above 90 once this season. You should move to Virginia!
Where do you live? I'd just like to know in order to avoid it, at least in the summertime. LOL

AmbiePam (15457) | 6 months ago | I live in Oklahoma, but you'd like it if it weren't for the heat. Oklahoma has some of the nicest people you've ever met. Even most of the rich people are nice. The red dirt is plentiful, as are the tornadoes, but the people can't be beat.: )

8. Opal26 (10131) | 6 months ago | Hi Ambie! Are you serious? It's 105 degrees? Wow! You poor girl! Come on over and you can bring your pets! Luna and Star won't mind! It's only 73 degrees here! It has been so strangely cool for this time of year and believe me I'm not going to dare complain! We honestly haven't had summer temps for awhile now! We've had an unbelieveable amount of rain and storms, but it has been rather cool! I think it was in the 60's last night and that certainly isn't normal for July in NY! So pack your stuff and come on over!

9. ANTIQUELADY (11603) | 6 months ago | CAN'T say as i'd blame u w.that temp. It is hot here but not that bad. I love pets & country music. I don't intend to ever move from right where i am no matter how hot or cold it gets. I love Tennessee, was born here & plan on dying here.

AmbiePam (15457) | 6 months ago | Oh man I love Tennessee. I almost went to college there. My mom spent several years in Tennesse when she was growing up. Tennesse and Colorado are the most beautiful states I've ever been to. And I've been to 32 of them, so I sort of know what I'm talking about. lol

ANTIQUELADY (11603) | 6 months ago | That is great, i love it to. U should have come on over & gone to school. Where did u think about going? It's a good place to be in my opinion. U are quite a traveler to have been in that many states.

10. catdla1 (2768) | 6 months ago | Heat would be right up there with me too. I have a girlfriend living in Burlington VT, and she keeps letting me know how nice the weather is up there. 75 to 80 during the day, 55 to 60 at night. Perfect weather. That's ok though. When she has 3 feet of snow in the winter, and it's -10 degrees, I can let her know that it's dry and 40 here. payback is sweet...I just wish it would get here sooner!! Is it hotter here than normal, or is it just me? BTW, how are you feeling? Better I hope, and hope your surgery was successful!

AmbiePam (15457) | 6 months ago | Yes, you can certainly rub it in come Christmas time. lol
I was able to go to church today, so I must be doing better. I have high hopes that it worked. Thanks for asking.: )
