Well see in your case it would be different since you are earning quite a bit from the tasks alone...but for us average MyLot members, we're not making anywhere near that to necessitate filling out w-9/1099 forms--like I said this member has only been here three months...so really doubt she's making that much yet

I am hoping to be in the boat with Cookie. I just got to where I am doing tasks. Speaking of which, I cannot get one of them to accept the last day or two. I wonder if it has to do with the same glitch about not updating? I think they are all on vacation at MyLot.

I guess the only way to find out is to email admin to find out. Maybe there is a new policy going on that does that with new members? I have no idea. It seems like if it were really MYLOT that they would put up a notice to everyone.. then we would all know.

Hell I still wouldnt fill out any tax shiit forms. Who cares how much you make, why report it to the damn government? They steal enough from us all the damn time.

@ Gerty, There is one that doesn't work... it's about dolls, but at the bottom it says 'subpages'... so that is one that doesn't work for anyone. There will most likely be more tomorrow.. there is hardly ever any over the weekend.

Well I did email MyLot asking about this...so have to wait to see what they say--but I don't see anything in the guidelines about filling any w-9/1099 forms--if it were true we ALL would have gotten an email from mylot

DO NOT FILL OUT A FORM FROM ANYONE HERE! Only fill out a form if it comes from the website it's self from the accounting office. On official US Federal Tax forms to YOUR HOME ADDRESS!!! THEY WILL NOT request it from you by some mylot person like pye has said above. That is a scam. Be smart like I know you are. :)

@Oreo - is that payment due to you in July or in August? I wonder when they make you fill out those forms.

@ Stern, I don't know when or if they will make me fill out anything. When I get paid this month.. they will pay me $52 and the rest will go to next month.

Due to the fact that we released myLot tasks, earnings have increased significantly. This was a legit email and it was sent directly to the responders email address with information in it only myLot would know about the responder.

I haven't gotten one yet... I'll be looking for it now.

I'm pretty sure it's only $600 a year extra...the 1099 form and w-9 usually implies taxable income from freelance type work, not from employers
LOL--I think hardly anyone makes at least $50 a month from here...most don't even make the $10 minimum payout a month

It's definitely $600 per year, anything less than that doesn't have to be reported by the employer. All income should be reported by the individual even if they don't receive a 1099 for the income. I personally believe a w9 and a 1099 should not be required on any of the internet opportunities like Mylot or Yuwie, simply because we are acting like contractors. If you have a new roof put on your house, do you make the contractor fill out a w9? What about a landscaper? We should all be in that category operating as self employed individuals. That's just my opinion.

I've seen a few sites which ask for tax info when you sign up at them. I've never seen one request that information after you sign up. Some will mention providing tax info in their TERMS OF SERVICE, but if there is no mention of tax info in the TOS, I would not provide it. At the same time, some sites are claiming there is a tax law in the USA which pertains to Multiple Streams of Income and requires a w9 to be filled out even for amounts less than $600 per year. The next time I talk to my CPA brother, I'll ask him if he knows anything about it.
Hits4Pay requires a w9, but they claim they only send out a 1099 if you make over $600. I asked for their tax id #, but they would not give it to me, therefore, I will not provide the same for them. I told them I need their tax id for my records when I file my tax return. All I can say is be very careful when giving out such sensitive information.

I'd never fill out anything with private info on line...one time I had gotten a letter from this collection agency (later checked up on them and found out they were one of the scam ones)---it directed me to go to their website. Okay did. When I clicked a certain link it asked me for my SSN number...no frucking way...like I said later found out it was one of the scam debt collection agencies

pye ~ have you thought of turning them into the Internet crimes unit of the FBI at www.ic3.gov (not a money making link) report everything you know there. Let them deal with it

Yeah, it does sound weird to me....I've been here three years and never got such an email from MyLot

I'll ask them, as well as, pm a few friends here to see what they say, but that's not cool and MyLot should know of such acts going on in their community! Thanx for the info...
