Its nearly Sept and its blazing hot,is it that hot where you are?103 degrees

hibabyangie oh what is that rain? I havent seen any of'that
in months here. wish it would rain here.its tinder dry'and
right now there are four different wild fires burning in'southern California. It was 90 here last week but this week its worse'and I
dont know if the fires have anything to do with it or not.

I have a friend that lives in bakersfield and he said the same thing. I told him I would be happy to ship the rain his way if I had the money for shipping costs,but sadly I don't. I will pray for rain your way and for the wildfires to stop.

many homes as they did last fall. there were so many'lost
their homes and everything even their pets.

hi lori like my son said we had a fairly mild summer but oh'my
now we are making up for it. my room is getting close to 90
but I am sitting in front of a floor fan so its okay.they'turn
the air conditioning on in our rooms up here at 7:30 which is'sortof silly as its hot right now at one thirty.my lipstick was gone'
hours ago.

hi fwidman yeah my son was google earthing the other night
and found all the fires and also the heat for the desert'areas and we decided we were still a bit cooler here.yes I am sure the'
fires must be cooking things up.and I wonder again how they
got started as we have had no thunderstorms or electical strikes'so
again it must be arson. last year some kids started the one'that
almost got our place then changed directions.that was a really'bad one too.some firefighters lost their lives in that one.

My guess would be some silly camper that didn't pay attention to their campfire, but arson is always a strong possibility. I wouldn't be shocked if, some year, they stop allowing people up into the mountains just so the firefighters can have a break

hi fwidman it might just come to that one really humongous one last year was set by,get ready for this, an out of work firefighter. that was just so sickening. five firefighters died in that awful fire. most of these now are arson. thats some sick people out there.

gee wouldnt it be fun to see the weeds and stuff burn and'away we
go.one fall we had a horribly bad fire in oak creekcanyon that'started towards Tustin and then the wind changed.people
and firefighters were both burned in that one.it was set by
a couple of teenagers.fpr ten days we had to keepour windows
closed and the air conditioning on as the air was just horrible.

Yep, fires down there every year. I don't miss them!!!

little cooler today supposed to be 93 whoopee. If I moved out of here I wouldnt miss them either. last year we had crazed scorched wild deer run down into Tustin streets trying to get away from the fires. it was so pathetic.

that last week but also some Around 82 so as my son sAid we'havent really had that bad A summer so now Augusts almostover September
is bound to be hot. I feel for the kids going back to school
as not all classrooms have air conditioning in them due to'
all the school budget cut backs.

Whew...we HAVE to have a/c here. My son's bus doesn't have it and he comes home with little bright red cheeks and sweaty clothes, from just a 30 min ride.

We haven't really had it that bad this year either, come to think of it, could have been WAY worse!

You really don't have summers or is it that you really didnt one? If you never get summers than that is something that I didn't know. That is real interesting to me. I never knew this about Canada. I guess your never too old to learn something new.

Oh no, we usually get 2 to 3 months of hot weather here, the falls are long and we'll usually got some warm spells for about a week or so. But winters are long and cold and with alot of snow. This year our summer was cool and rainy with an average temperature of about 15 degrees celcius.

Soon however, my wife, our dog, and myself are going to be chasing the sun in a truck camper on a permanent vacation. We hope on driving across Canada to BC and then down to your neck of the woods. First we have to sell our beautiful house on the lake and quit our jobs!

oh gypsy that sounds so nice and cool but I know where you are 'coming from as i was born and raised in south dakota short hot summers warm falls and cold cold cold snowy blizzardy winter so I dont really miss that. its only 93 today.

hi sritinity i have always wanted to know about monsoons as ihave
never been to India. here our septembers are usually hot like this and we have those wild fires that make it even hotter. are your monsoons'
cool rain or warm rain?

Hatley if the monsoon had come when it was supposed in June/July then the rains would have been abit warm, but now as it's started in September the rains are colder. Not as cold as in the UK, but still cold by Indian standards. Its about 78 degrees farenhiet here.

day but it should not go over 96

hornswaggled ah colorado is a wonderful place to live and would
'love to move there. we used to live in tempe arizona and oh yes the'weather in the summer and fall was really hot. at night the
buildings would radiate the heat and to me that was incredible.

hi rosepedal seems our summer was not as warm as usual so'now we are'getting hot weather in spades. that fire is totally out of control and they are evacuating people left and right. they claim it will take til sept 8h to get it under control its not close to us so am greatful for that. i had always thought Ky would have hot summer. oddly a lot of my moms people came from Kentucky and Indiana then moved to MIssouri.

hi kitty I have heard NYC can get really warm. I know when we lived in arizona the buildings would hold heat and at night you could walk by and touch the walls and they would be really hot. that fire in LaCanada is totally out of control.its not close to us but a lot of peopple have already lost their homes. it threatens mt.wilson where a lot of important stuff like the astronomy dome is located.so they are trying to keep that area wetted down.from where we are we can see these giant smoke clouds just sickening and so scary.

You are right it can get pretty hot here, this year we have been blessed I was able to deal with the heat without complaining too much so thats always a good thing, I feel so bad for all the people that lost their homes , I tried calling my friend left a message she didn't return my call, I am sure she is o.k every time I hear about things like this I worry about her and then she will call and let me know there was no danger to her or her loved ones.


I hope by now the fires are under control, my heart and prayers are with everyone keep us posted my friend smoochess to you.

I hope your friends husband is o.k, how scary is that , has she spoken to him maybe he can go to someones house till this is over geez I feel so bad for these people nothing like losing all the things that mean so much to you, its been a while since you posted this has she heard from? please keep me posted my heart goes out to everyone that has to deal with this

hi kitty42 yes she emailed me later today and everything is'okay for him and they are still fighting that fire,mainly trying to keep
it away from the town. hope they get it out soon its not supposed'to be very big so heres hoping, iknow she will keep me informed. her son has a 1949 ford that he is hoping to refurbish and thats worrying him as he doesnt want anything to happen to it. it will be worth some money once hes fixed it up. he is reallya mechanical whiz.

I finally spoke to my friend today she said she has enrolled in school so she is really busy which is a great thing for her, she said it is so hot there it is driving her nuts I know me and I would not be able to deal with the heat I don't see how you all manage, heat does not agree with me and too much heat would probably send me to the hospital, last year it was really hot here this year not so bad but one day last year it was so hot me, my daughter and grandson went to the super market which is fine cause its pretty cool, my daughter said ma come on I am like what is the rush it feels good in here anyway we get upstairs whew I said god please I can't take this heat please help me and while I was saying these words my daughter was looking out the window all of a sudden her pony tail started flying back and forth this cool air came in and oh my it felt so good, there was a bad storm somewhere people were hurt trees were laying everywhere it was sad but I must say that air felt so good to me

hi kitty42 its a bit cooler today here and by the middle of next week it should be in mid 80's. the big fire is now 42% contained which is good news and best is that the horrid Santa Ana winds have not come yet. when we have fires and Santa Anas its just pure hell to fight them and they get so much bigger too. I am glad your friend got in touch with you. My friend Nelda said her husband was okay the fire was not that close to him but it is not yet contained. I am so glad I do not live really close to these fires.
